Hi Guys,

The trading/draft system has been looked at and there are a number of things that will make it more realistic next year. The major inclusion will be the addition of contracts. Players are tied to 1-5yr contracts and only players with 1yr or less on their contract are able to be traded. Clubs will have first crack at their out of contract players prior to trade week and the draft so you won't see many big name players up for grabs too often (just like the real thing). Those players who are up for trade/draft will have more comprehensive profiles featuring attributes/stats (if applicable). There are additional features that are to be included and you'll really enjoy the off-season experience in 2007. Add to this the ability to edit players (especially their names so you can add your legend players!) and you'll see that we are pretty much addressing all the concerns you have. We really appreciate the continued feedback guys so keep it coming.

With regards to the seasons being similar year after year...I've gotta be honest, maybe I've been lucky, but my seasons are totally different year after year...hmmm....will definitely get them to check this out though!

But back onto the positive side of things, I really love the game. As someone else said, it's awesome that the conditions do play a part - and you really appreciate a 20 degree sunny day at the MCG, especially after coming off a drenched match at Subiaco (as an example). As with the real thing, you notice your faster players on the dry days have an impact whereas they aren't as explosive in wet conditions. Nice touch!

Fantastic game. :thumbsu:

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah I'm with you on the weather thing...when I play I know I'm always in for a battle with wet conditions. Have played two classic games in the wet - The Geelong Mission and every bloody game against Essendon playing as Hawthorn. For some reason we always get them in the rain unless it's at the dome of course! Lucas always tries to tear me a new one but the overall pace of the Hawks in the wet tends to be the deciding factor...

Carlton fan...here is my guess

Agility - Dodge opponents, turn quickly
Stamina - How quickly they tire
Durability - How often they get injured
Accuracy - I'm guessing kick accuracy and perhaps handball accuracy? A high kick accuracy rating would mean the goal kicking slider would move slowly
Balance - Ability to kick or handball while being bumped and off balance

Having trouble predicting the winner for the GF?

I simulated a game at the MCG between Sydney and West Coast on AFL 2006.

In a see-sawing affair the Swans got up by the smallest of margins...1pt. Courtesy of a Barry Hall smother on a Wirrpanda kick-out resulting in a match winning goal (his 10th goal).

Now you can trot off to the TAB with some confidence and lay down the hard earned on back-to-back premierships for the swannies!

Just started simulating the NRL granny on RL2...

The whole game sucks mate.
Play Madden 2007, different sport but the lack of AFL is made up in the gameplay and graphics :thumbsu:
I have Madden 07 and while it is a great video game...the dull stop start nature of the sport made it get tiresome quickly.

This is for fiery hawk..........gday mate on a website...futuregamez.net and in the preview section it has afl premiership 2007 that will be coming out in march/april for the PSP....can u confirm this

Fiery Hawk,

Apart from the fact that the teams were reversed, that is exactly what happened in the real deal. A Sydney player gets his kick smothered and West Coast score a goal, eventually winning by 1 point. Egad!

Hmm... perhaps you should simulate every match of the weekend next season, and then we'll bet on the other team winning by that margin! I don't see how it could fail.

How about that for near accuracy, a mere 2 point difference to the real thing :D.

BTW what tactics did you assign to both teams? Wondering if it is possible in the game to have Sydney-like numbers around the ball :).

Hey Roofseal, have not heard anything about a PSP version. Will let you know if I hear anything. At the moment we're just thinking about a PS2 version. Things can change between now and november however when we begin work on AFL2007.

Haha yeah I actually thought that not long after the game on Saturday.

I actually used the default settings for both sides throughout the entire game. We also didn't go as far as putting in the correct players in their correct positions (given we had no idea who'd line up where at that stage). Might set it up later and try a more accurate simulation...

Hopefully next year there'll be an extra 100 uniforms from the past to choose from (along with the 2007 season uniforms) in every match.
Definite inclusions for next year are the clash guernseys which are mandatory for season 2007 according to the AFL. The ability to select guernseys before a match is also a definite I'm happy to say.

Fiery, how close are you to finishing the Gaelic Football & Hurling games. Will they be available before Christmas?
