FH I hope I'm not the only one to think that should be the number one priority for all time! I'm sure any AFL title that comes out with extra bells and whistles but the gameplay remains exactly the same will end up being slagged off. Really pleased by your message that gameplay will forever be the key focus.

Gameplay is the focus but we also need to add more game content with each iteration which is what we are trying to do. The gameplay must improve with each version...:thumbsu:

Guys can we keep the posts on here in relation to the AFL Premiership 2007 game?

There are plenty of other forums (Bay 13 comes to mind) where you can slag each others teams off...

Victorian readers interested in getting into the game industry should jump into the car next week and head to Ballarat.

Ballarat GiG (Get into Games) will be held at the Mining Exchange on May 25 and 26 and feature stage presentations, hands-on play, and information sessions with educational institutions and local developers.

Australian developers like Auran, IR Gurus, Endgame, Third Wave and Blue Tongue are supporting the event, along with the Games Developers' Association of Australia and institutions like the University of Ballarat and Qantm College.

Games on show will include home-grown titles like Fury, Slidatron, AFL 2007 and War World.

FH,

I like how last year there was half empty stadiums and for the finals tyhe stadiums would be full. Is that the case this year as well?

It was very realsitic.

Yeah it's still the case for 2007. I played a game between the Kangaroos and Fremantle at the docklands and there were plenty of empty seats. Then I played Carlton against Sydney in the finals and the docklands stadium was chock-o-block :thumbsu:

As a bonus you also get to see the attendance figure for the match in AFL 2007 - oh and the crowd figures are the correct ones for the missions in the game.

FH, Please tell me that teams such as West coast and Sydney have the best overall team rating and not teams like collingwood?

Collingwood are not a top rated team. That said though there isn't too much of a difference between the teams with their best 22 on the field. It's only throughout a season when teams are hit by injuries or suspension that the depth and strength of the better sides comes through.

West Coast and Sydney are amongst the better rated sides with the 22 on the park.

The team ratings are as follows;

  • Adelaide - 80
  • Brisbane - 77
  • Carlton - 78
  • Collingwood - 77
  • Essendon - 77
  • Fremantle - 80
  • Geelong - 79
  • Hawthorn - 79
  • Kangaroos - 80
  • Melbourne - 79
  • Port Adelaide - 78
  • Richmond - 78
  • St Kilda - 81
  • Sydney - 81
  • West Coast - 80
  • Western Bulldogs - 81

Now before anyone jumps up and down I wanna explain the following;

  • These ratings were done in the off-season
  • Although the Kangaroos/Hawks are rated 79-80 they quickly drop off the pace with injuries/suspension due to a lack of depth
  • The Eagles will maintain their rating of 80 despite injuries/suspension because of their depth
  • Teams aren't rated highly (in the 90's etc) because it's based on the ten attribute categories of each player and this year the kicking distance ratings sit between 40-85 so a lot of players are experiencing drops in their overall rating
  • I know there is only 4-5 difference in the worst and best rated teams but let's face it there's not much between a lot of the teams in real life

Not happy with Collingwood's rating FH

Did you read the whole message? This was done in the off-season and the pies weren't rated very highly then...who was to know they'd be playing this well at this stage of the season? It's not like the Pies are rated 15-20 below the best. It's only 4...

I see overall the general ratings of teams is a fair bit higher than last year, where it was around 75 for the highest, and high 60's for the lowest.

Is this because players that have been a little underrated have gotten better ratings this year?

The ratings are close but they seem a fair way off even if they were done in the off-season.

Port in the off-season was rated better than Carlton, but we seem to be rated equally. That's just an example.

oh well since we cna change players stats

FH, im not sure if this has been asked, but have the atmosphere of the stadiums been like added

games like NBA 04 i had, when it was the last few seconds in a close match the fans goes wild and when i shoot 3s they all go "3, 3 ,3" in the background, last year's AFL game when i kicked a goal to win the match no one clapped

I'm sorry... :(

FH JUST A FEW THINGS OK HERE GOES:

Crowd atmosphere increased? eg: home team more cheers away team less cheers and more boos and when theres only little time and its a close game does the crowd get louder?

Commentary is it more realistic and is there alot more commentary like comments and stuff and when its a close game do the commentattors atleast get a bit more excited?

is the setup for the team set up like this
B:
HB:
C:
HF:
F:
R:

well yer you know what i mean or if its not how is it setup

Training is there practice matches, can you work with like forwards defenders midfielders etc the grounds where you practice are they like tha gabba or just ordinary training grounds and after you do training do playes get more better like more devoloed in there stats or something

how is the player devolopment lik is is the same as 2006 with dev points or is it like fifa when after a game they just get more experienced in there stats

the shirts is there long sleeves and if there is can you choose who wears the long sleeves or is it just random

and one last thing you konw how you said theres season stats what kind like was it the same as afl 05 in the team roster like games golas behinds games this season suspensions like yer so what kinda stats and well thats all YOU'VE BEEN GREAT FH ON THIS FORUM AND I CANT WAIT FOR JUNE 28TH BUT NOOOOO ITS LIKE A MONTHS AWAY :( lol anyway please answer my questions asap anyway CYA

Carlton have a higher rating then Collingwood? Fremantle 80? Hawthorn 79? Riiiiiiiiight :p
FH said that it was ranked on the teams best 22, not the whole 40 or so players, if you think about it Carlton might have a best 22 who are rated higher than Collingwoods best 22 but Collingwood could have more players rated between the 65-75 catagorie than Carlton so in their overall team they would beat Carlton but in the best 22 they lose.

Hope that wasn't too complicated.

We rated the 1st year draftees higher this year and 'pushed up' the ratings of the underated 3rd-5th year players to match which meant higher rankings for sides. A consequence of this is that the salary cap becomes more of an issue this year as your team is worth more. The idea was to get you guys to spend dev points on the up and comers in your team.

All I hope for is:

Create A Player Mode

PS2 and/or PC version.

It's not a create-a-player mode...it's a player editor so you are effectively replacing an existing player on your list. The player editor is best suited to newly generated players you pick up in the draft.

It's PS2 only again this year.
