Liked - The Hawks upset win. Thought they’d blown it with inaccurate kicking but they pulled it from the fire late. Surely puts to bed the silly notion that they were ever tanking. Also how good is James Sicily

Learnt - Not to ‘advise’ one’s significant other on who to pick in the gauntlet. Think I’ll be sleeping on the couch all week.

Hated - Sidebottom having to be subbed off in his milestone game. Sometimes things just don’t go to script - rotten luck for him.

Liked - Collingwood
Learnt - Adelaide Crows are a force in Adelaide again.
Hated - Sidebottoms injury in hes 300th. Shattered for him.

Liked: winning. We played quality football, and Brisbane are a top-4 or top-2 quality side. They have skill and hardness. Had they kicked straight, they would have won.

It's also good to see a series of upsets demonstrating the evenness of the comp. I think our win was the sixth game where the bookies' favourites lost.

Learnt: we've made Adelaide Oval our fortress again, but need to work on our away form.

Hated: some of the umpiring today was shocking.

Liked: Not much

Learnt: The Geelong reign is finally over, it's a hard pill to swallow, but they have collapsed a lot more quickly than i thought.

Hated: Losing to the Giants was the final nail in the Cats coffin.

liked - only one non Vic team lost to a Vic team. Great reminder to the media it is a national comp.

learnt - the Carlton Board is falling apart

hated - the dreadful treatment the GoCo received from the Umps. Plus Weightman managing to outdo Ginnivan as a cheat

Liked - so hard to choose!!! Carlton, Melbourne, Geelong, Richmond, Brisbane? just the overall vibe I guess.
Learned - The discussion about whether DeGoey is elite is over.
Hated - Sidey's injury. One of my favourite Pies players ever.

• Geelong’s close to checked out for the season
• Essendon’s becoming a reliable team
• Fremantle’s resurgence this season is almost complete

Liked: Adelaide, Carlton flopping again, Port, Hawthorn and Freo.
Learnt: Carlton are done, St Kilda are frauds and Hawthorn shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as West Coast. Port are fairly legit

Learnt:

• Hardwick’s gone
• Geelong’s close to checked out for the season
• Essendon’s becoming a reliable team

Actually I did like a couple of things - Gold Coast’s win and Hawthorn’s win.

And I learnt one more thing: St Kilda are starting to hit some concerning form. Could just be a midseason lull though.

Liked - All the upsets! Great for the Pies. Built a 3 game cushion inside the top 4. The comp is more even than people would like to believe.

Learnt - Crows need to be taken seriously. It’s a bloody talented group of players. Also learnt the Suns were almost robbed. Thank F they prevailed.

Hated - Pies lack killer instinct. Got 9 goals up then completely took foot off pedal against North. End result: 35 points. Similar thing last week v Blues - 7 goals up by the 2nd quarter. End result: 28 points.

Liked: The Hawks win. Still 5 or 6 quality players away from being a serious team...but we're on the road back.
Learnt: Collingwood are the only team I can trust.
Hated: Yet more teams blow wins with poor goal kicking....old lethal once said "accuracy infront of goals decides more games that any other stat"

Learnt: Maybe I should trust port more. Freo are on the rise. St kilda’s bubble burst. Carlton aren’t cooking anything.

Hated: I still don’t trust Port. And goal kicking this year is just shocking.

Learnt: De Goey gun season is official
Hated: bog average cats!

Liked: How much Saints are in the fans heads, being happy that we "are found out" tells me that most teams supporters are scared of the Saints and next year with a full season, trade period and preseason under RTB'S belt, we will be a force.

Liked Freo and Crows winning of course, Learnt trying to blind someone by eye gouging is equal to a football tackle that could get the afl into the courts, when the player rolls and apologizes for doing so. Hated - remembering how good and exciting footy was in the vfl sanfl in the 80s 90s blew this high pressure lower scoring flick fest out of the PARK!

Yep its rare anything else costs a team more. Bad umpiring can be frustrating but doesnt offer affect the result more than poor kicking.
