Motlop remains a Blue

Jesse Motlop will remain in the Navy Blue for two more years after re-signing with the Carlton Football Club. The No.27 pick in 2021 enjoyed a promising start with the Club last year, debuting in Round 9 against the Giants. Living up to his family name, Motlop proved to be an electric injection into the Blues’ forward line, kicking 20 goals in his 19 career games to date, while earning a Goal of the Year nomination in the process. Motlop’s forward pressure is a hallmark of his game, ranking 15th in the competition for tackles inside 50 per game.

Carlton Reserves to play curtain raiser

Both of Carlton’s AFL and VFL teams will be in action at Marvel Stadium today, with the Carlton Reserves taking on the AFL Academy. The action will kick off from 4:10pm, with gates opening from 4pm. Entry into the AFL game will cover entry into the practice match.

We should handle their key forwards better now than in years gone by, but I can see a Carlton side that has been shat on by the media all week get up and capitalise on the absence of Treloar (and JUH too if his injury demands him to stay out of the side).

Treloar out makes it tough.
Mind you Walsh, Cripps and whatever else passes for a midfielder at the Blues have been inconsistent, which is my friendly and nice way of saying “they been s**t”.

Not sure if last week’s booing/ mass exodus is gonna inspire the Blues? Either way i hope it happens again.

Dogs by a goal, Liam Jones best on ground.

Carlton destroy us every year. They could be bottom of the ladder right now and I’d still be hesitant to tip us.

The big change though is Liam Jones. First time since Marcus Adams left that we’ve had a competent one on one key defender, so ideally we don’t concede a bag of 7+ goals to Curnow or McKay this time

If Bont decides to pull out one of his blinders, Blues will have no chance. He is the key to this one.
