Where is all the sunny boy love from before the game ? And what a walk in the park it would be , back to making sand castles on main beach boys !

Was having a whine about new underground trains near the Gabba being a waste because of no Olympics there
That poster you quoted need to do some homework.
The Gabba Cricket Ground will be used for 20/20 cricket during the Olympics but that's not why the big Cross River Rail project was built for anyhow.

Also, a new Entertainment Centre will be built above the underground railway station across the road from The Gabba.
It will be private funding, so not tied to the Olympic Venue Funding and most likely will be ready for the Olympics.
At this stage they have no sports allocated to this venue.
But i will guarantee they will use it for something if built in time, which should not be a problem.

Oh mate. I'm sure you've seen my posts on the Lions board before. I've always gone in with good faith/no intention to troll and shared my belief that two strong Queensland teams is the best outcome for the game in our state. Unfortunately, a lot of unnecessary pot shots from Brisbane supporters aimed at me/my club were sent my way and I turned the other cheek to ignore a lot of them. I reckon you might want to start with your fellow Lions supporters if you want to preach about being humble. Particularly when it comes to games against the Suns. There's been an enormous amount of disrespect thrown our way from Lions supporters over the years.

And to be fair, I was actually quoting Touk Miller. He was the one that talked about relishing the opportunity to take the Lions out in straight sets. This isn't an overnight reaction to our first finals win, either. It wouldn't have mattered if this was 8 years ago and we were playing off for the wooden spoon, Touk would've said something very similar about wanting to beat the Lions.

Joe Daniher? He was essentially the reason you won the flag last year. He was actually a good bloke. I'll give you that.

I don't think you can blame Touk Miller for having a chip on his shoulder given the history, particularly with Zorko. I don't think it's a stretch to say Touk has been waiting for this moment for most of his career. He's always had a deep dislike for Zorko and the Lions and it certainly looks like he's licking his lips at the prospect of revenge after so many losses/incidents over the last decade. There's no niceties there and that's just how it is.
Maybe Touk should have kept his mouth shut. He did dish out a few good handballs though- to our players standing on their own. Zip it until you achieve something Touk.

Just hope they've learnt enough from the QF if they meet them again. Scott is like an evil genius mastermind, it'll be a battle of coaches. A real David and Goliath battle.

LMFAO who the hell is meant to be David in that scenario?
Hmm let's see...

David was a shorty - so Fages
David was good looking - beauty in the eye of the beholder
David was young - so Chris
David was a good bloke (most of the time) - so Fages (Chris been at Geelong too long and recent ... interactions)
Goliath was a renowned warrior - so Chris with the rep
David was on the humble side - so Fages
Goliath was evil (well not on the side of the author) - so Chris

On balance Fages is David and Scott is Goliath

Easy to say in retrospect, but I guess that's one of the learnings you gain from acquiring finals experience. Keep your receipts and only bring them out when/if you win ala Ashcroft talking about the sledging throughout 2025 AFTER the Lions eliminated them. I'm sure Will wouldn't have said anything if they had lost that semi final.

There's also a part of me that thinks some of it is just Touk trying to build up the QClash to mean more because there were certainly years in the past where it didn't mean much. You know?

Yeah i know what you are saying but you can build it up without total disrespect to the other team. To just point blank say that he could not to wait to bounce them out in straight sets was just plain stupid.

It's disrespectful to say you'd like to win a game of football?

I don't see any issues with him saying in the lead up to the game that he's looking forward to the opportunity to take the Lions out in straight sets. We're supposed to be rivals and that's the kind of pre-game comments you would expect in the lead up to a Crows v Power or Dockers v Eagles semi final. Par for the course IMO.
