I haven't played Evo 2 in years but I never liked the mark jostling. I felt like the movement within the contest was so touchy that I would frequently run out of the contest. Was I missing something?
It's because you're contesting with 5 plus players who can all nudge you out of position and can contest wherever you want I feel is superior than just a 1v1 forced wrestle forced into one spot where you can't move that rewards dump kicking. Especially with sliders, contested marking in Evo 2 is much more harder and more faithful to the sport with the way packs form around the ball drop, I have no idea why they think 1v1 only without the ability to even move around the ball drop is the way to go with 23-26, it's so unrealistic.

In Evo 2 it's okay, it's closer to what it should be. I like the idea of wrestling in marking, but it should be optional and have more abilities, like being able to dive out of a wrestle to mark the ball, and move around, not be stuck in one spot, or side bumping like crumbers do, and have other players disrupt the wrestles and out position the wrestling players.
 
Got to try this again last night and I have to say the game play is much improved. It flows much better and I saw some nice passages or play especially goal kicking on the run snaps.

Tried coaching management mode and I just can’t get past how poorly it is. It’s half baked. In the first game of the season for no apparent reason the auto interchange put Nank at full back, moved Balta to FF and put Lynch in the ruck.

Lalor had the back up ruck symbol designated to him which it didn’t matter if I changed it to Balta or Lefau it kept having Lalor ruck when Lynch went off.

I don’t want to have to play a game where you have to continually pause it to make interchanges.

I still hate the marking contests, it just doesn’t look natural.

Only played 4 games and by the 4th I’d well and truly had enough. It’s a game you would be happy enough to have on game pass or at a really cheap price but not something you’d be happy paying $70 plus for.
I went into the Academy and made Balta a defender instead of a swingman so that he wouldn't get moved forward.

You set the backup ruck yourself so that's an easy fix.

My Proteam has SDK as ruck. Goldstein is on the bench and is set as backup ruck.

Chol (set as CHB) will ruck 75% of ruck contests without fail. Either the game can't figure out that I want my ruck and my backup ruck on the bench to swap positions (one rucking, other on the bench), or it just decides that it knows better and because Chol, not a ruck, has a higher overall score just decides to chuck him in.

I have Draper and O’Brian as my rucks and Jye Amiss gets thrown in there 🤦🏼‍♂️

That's weird. I've only ever had mine throw random players in when my ruck cops an injury.

Playing Chol as CHB won't work with auto-interchange though, as it's not smart enough to recognise the position you name players in. Within seconds of the game starting it will try and move Chol to a position he's more suited to.

I was mistaken, I'm playing at FF as his role is Key Forward. So he's already in a role he's most suited to.

His ruck tap stats are lower than Goldstein and SDK. The only thing he has going for him is he's a Silver card and my rucks are Bronze. Yet I guarantee that SDK will take the first bounce of the game, and then Chol will be thrown in henceforth.

I dont understand why they dont make a Depth Chart like they do in the NFL, could have a list of positions and the order in which players play there. So if there is an injury or a sub or bench rotation the next player in the list takes the field in that position.
Surely it cant be that hard.

You're saying this when they can't even get the back-up ruck to play in the ruck.
 
Can anyone tell me how to set your team lineup in management mode? I feel stupid
The thursday before every game, it asks you to set lineup or automatically set. Not sure if there is a setting that turns it off and on. You can't change the lineup on gameday, has to be done "during the week"

Need a Chris Scott option where the team sheet you put out on the Thursday has zero impact on who plays on game day

Where are these patch notes? Nothing from their twitter

There aren't any. When I said patch notes earlier I went back to find them, but it was just a screenshot someone shared of the manual handball description in the menu.

Big Ant don't like things like patch notes or road maps or anything that could potentially be used to hold them to account.
