Plonked a bit on Melbourne to take out the wooden spoon on monday, was happy to get $5!

The clubs in turmoil again off the field with all its financial/board trouble, list wise it would have to be one of the worst in the league, in fact I might line up and collect now if Neitz goes down with a long term injury.

Anyone else had a bet before the season starts?

Done your Dough ....It's a Even Year ;)

I'm on Geelong to make the eight at $3.50. Not overly confident but we didn't get belted badly by anyone - I think that game where the pies destroyed us in the last quarter was our biggest loss. Add a fit King and Harley who missed a lot of games at the start of the season and we are in with a shot.

I'm hoping those pick four/six things have a bit of value about them again. Started well last year until it settled down a bit and sportsbet gave ****house odds.

Did the TAB laugh at you when you gave them your money. I would of. We will finish higher then your mob.

I think the Wooden Spoon is out of Carlton,Richmond and the Western Bulldogs.

:p

Don't worry cobber at the start of '99 I was saying we would avoid the spoon, its called denial. Just hope I get $3.80(over 39pts) for our match against your boys this season like last year.

Still can't see why you'd wait all year for dividends of $3.

I've come up with a system for picking value winners with the TAB, but this will be the first season I'll run it. Hopefully it works well.

$5 for the spoon, hell if a horse is over a $1.80 I'll think baout smashing it anything under forget it.

Im with you Nizzy I don't have the patience place a stake that takes over 7 months to pay $5 if Im right.

I haven't seen a market for the Wiz Fiz Cup. Now that Mickey Mouse series might get some of mine, as certain clubs don't have a real go at it. The field can narrowly significantly & present good value, for some roughies.

Hawks are scorching Wiz favs at $6...wonder if the TAB ears pricked up when Schwabby anounced the Hawks were going all the way...(I'm sure Schwabby meant the H & A season)

I found an interesting combination of bets....the amount of premiership points each team will have at the end of H & A rounds...

here's an example... Kangaroos 40-44 $5.50
46-52 $3.75
54+ $8.00

Instead of $3 to make the eight, better to take these odds on premiership points as it's 14 wins & over that gets a far better price.

Spotted these odds tonight at the TAB.

Cousin was saying Melbourne are into $4.50 now for the spoon.

Staying away from the Mickey Mouse Cup.

If you look at the time that he posted that, he didnt know that his team were about to get flogged by the best midfield in the land! :D
Don't worry Demon3, you're next :)

On a more serious note, i plonked $20 on Chris Judd to win the Brownlow this year.. $31 isnt bad odds for the silky speed demon now, is it? Just hope he has a good year and looking forward to a west coast finals appearance

Settle down kids, never given a frogs fat arse about the Mickey Mouse Cup, just a chance to get a look at the kids. Still might have a couple of bucks on Cousins for the Brownlow, he looked awesome.

Thinking about plonking $100 on Lenny Hayes for the Brownlow....not bad odds at $41
