I made my bold prediction about a month or so ago - Swans will not make the finals leaving Ainslie, Belconnen, Eastlake and Qbn to fight out the 4 spots.

Time could change everything so its way to early for me to predict a premiership team.

Lets talk some footy...... interested to see peoples opinions before the season begins, ill go first.
WHO WILL WIN THESE?

Mulrooney medal? (Clarke Eastlake)
Leading goal kicker? (Armstrong/Hughes)
Premiership? (Ainslie)

This week
QBN by 8 goals
Swans by 4 goals
Eastlake v Ainslie Draw (as much as i want the demon's to win) Peter McGrath to kick a goal after the siren to tie the game.

Mulrooney medal? Nathan Clarke/Mitch Daniher
Leading goal kicker? Kavanagh
Premiership? Swans again!
One to watch? Kaine Stevens QBN, the best junior to come out of the region in a long long time, maybe since James Hird???

Sorry ABH, but I disagree. I would be happy to put a bottle of JD on that. And another that they will win the GF... Again

big call considering the kid hasn't really done anything YET!!. plus i think one Craig Bolton would have a case for this argument

Your right NOP it is a big call, but one i think that will be backed up by years end. Time will tell i guess

I hope you are not comparing Craig Bolton and James Hird? Craig is a great player, but it is an insult to James to name the two in the same sentence.

Happy to make the season interesting AF.

You know my views via the PM.

Get back to me and we are on:thumbsu:

Why dont you all bring up the same old tips you had last year !!

Same old Same old !!

Clarke this , Clarke that ..... Qybn as hard as ever ..... bla bla bla

Im tipping Ainslie this year because they have gone super hard recruit wise - picked up quality from SA & Tas. That on top of the 3 or 4 from Vic last year means a deep squad.
Eastlake there abouts with some good pick ups and have kept most young'uns despite losing Kimball. Still have a lot of passengers who rely on Clarke,Cooper,Rodgers to do the match winning.
Swans will win 90% of games in Sydney with RAMS top ups proving the difference to when they play here. so will squeeze into finals despite teams like Belco & Ainslie handing them 3rd graders as top ups in Canberra which leaves them open for defeat.
Belco have not covered losses of quality in midfield and will have a 50% winning ratio which will see them just miss 4. Coach Read landed this job at wrong time.
Qybn will rely on Armstrong / Kavanagh kicking 120+ between them to make finals, lose one of them and bye bye Tigers
Tuggers will improve slightly & need to, but will find it hard to win games again meaning another wooden spoon.

Mulrooney - Jeremy Stiller
Leading Goal Kicker - Tim Inkster

At no point did i compare the 2. your comment was that Kaine was the best SINCE and correct me if i'm wrong but Craig Bolton has come through between James and Kaine. But give the kid a chance to show what he has, through the RAMS and the Tigers before making massive assumptions. He does have great bloodlines though.
P.S James Hird is definately in a league of his own just to set that straight.

Its clear that you follow Ainslie, you posted all positives for Ainslie, and all the reasons why every other clubs cant win it. I didnt post my top 4 last year you toffee from Wakefield drive. Ainslie have had numerous squads in the past 8/10yrs and have tripped over their cheque book. SW Ainslie have had better lists than 09 and been backhanded into submission. I was the 1 that posted QB will be hard as per normal and they have got it all over Ainslie in those stakes. Pure reality be known SW, if Ainslie cant win it this year, with QB being down/Belco losing quite a few, then the club may as well fold. Ah, but that pressure of knowing Ainslie can actually win it will be pressure enough to see Eastlake take it. Star witness at a murder trial is all you are.:thumbsd:

Well this week i am tipping :

Eastlake over Ainslie - Eastlake always well drilled and have some big targets up fwd, Ainslie will take a few weeks to gel but will steadily improve to be difficult to beat. Eastlake by 23 points with Gibson kicking 5 on debut. Ainslie's new ruckman to dominate all day though.

Swans to scrape over line - again  in last kick off day with superior fitness of main movers prominent and proving the difference- Belco also have a differnet make up to the side which may take time to gel - and maybe it never will???

Tuggies to push Qybn all the way with the Tigers goal kicking trio the difference in the end. Tiges by 13 points
A bit High - is there any truth that Armstrong is unlikely to play???
this could prove the difference between the 2 sides

jury is out!!:D

Merv did the entire session last night with no signs of any problems.
He has had a bit of trouble with a groin but judging from last nights session it will be all systems go on Sunday.

Good to see Grayson Stopp picked for Tuggeranong - someone progressing from ANU in Districts up the grades.

Chris Murch and Sean Ellis should both be improved with their time spent in Queensland

Just had a quick look over the paper at lunch and see that our great mate Simon Collis didnt get picked for belco, could anyone from belco explain whats going on? Maybe they'he wrapped him in bubble wrap for the week.

Hey, Did I hear correct. Ainslie done by 80 points today plus lost the other two grades. What happened ? Heard Demon Gibson was dominate and early favorite for the Medal. What was the crowd like ?. Should have been big based on the two teams playing today are favorites to participate in the GF.

Tomorrow, Tuggers to once again upset the Tigers by 10 points and the Maggies to win by five goals even though missing some quality players from last year. They have recruited wisely. Good country kids. Watch their speed and attack at the footy. Looking the goods again !

I'm back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ABH:thumbsu:

Eastlake took a giant step forward in proving Ryan Lewis prediction rite when they smashed Ainslie today.
It seems lewy has come out in support of eastlake not only tipping them to be minor preimers but also to take out the grand prize.
Gibson looks like he can play, handy all over the ground today.
The only bloke i would pay from ainslies effort today would be Harris i thought he looked good in a well beaton side.imo,
Footy its great to have it back:thumbsu:

It's on days like today that I wish I had another name on here, for I saw a lot of things at Ainslie today worthy of comment. But alas, I'll keep my feelings to myself. No, I'll make one observation: today was the start of my fourth year of photographing our great comp, and it was the absolute worst performance I have seen by the tricolours in that time. Maybe it's a case of adjusting to life-after-Billy, but crikey this afternoon was an absolute smashing. If Eastlake had decided to keep up the pressure in the final term then God only knows what the final score would've been.

However, having said all that, if the newish Ainslie midfield get it together then we may be looking at an extremely fast and dynamic unit.

It's just what I saw through the lens. :)

Ainslie Ainslie Ainslie, no im not in the bussiness of kicking people when they are down. I did pick the Tri Colors today, christ i didnt expect what i witnessed though. Ainslie missed sodas they should have kicked, Eastlake kicked a fair few lucky ones, as well as completly out playing Ainslie. Dont care how strong you are, that would dent anyones confidence. Ive tipped Ainslie V Eastlake in the gf, what a unknowledgable tip that looks like. Ive stated that Rourke will be shown the door at seasons completion, due to lack of respect from a third of the group. Corey must be rapt that he rang the big recruit at 7 in the morn 6ish wks ago, as IMO he was close to, if not b.o.g. Corey if your out there in bigfooty land, your a disgrace to Ainslie FC, and a hinderence to its future. Corey, be a man and sack yourself.
Ainslie need to throw the cheque book as far from wakefeild as possible.
While ever they continue to spend such rubbish amounts on players that dont give a shit about each other they will keep getting the same results.
I think kp is onto something in regards to rourke,IMO players simply dont responde to him i just dont know what he brings to the table.Yesterdays effort was disgracefull i cant remember the last time i seen players verbally abuse each other so much. And mr lewis mite i suggest you worry about your own pay packet instead of gibson,s. And because i know he didnt answer your question i will. YES he did earn his money.I have no doubt that ainslie will improve however, untill they start to respect each other they will be just another side that promised so much and deliverd so little.Rourky you would be better off introducing players to each other before they run out next weekend:D Remember guys if a door to door saleswoman from the sperm bank knocks on your door give her a gobfull.

So, how's everyone feeling after Round 1? So far I'm 1 from 3 (Eastlake over Ainslie), but it was almost 2 from 3 at Dairy Farmer's this afternoon. Hawks were extremely good in the first quarter, and showed similar flashes throughout, but the Tigers just stuck to their solid game. I didn't see Belco v Swans, but I heard that Danger went pretty well.

I'll try to get photos up ASAP.

Cheers
