Cadola whilst I can't give feedback on the supposed spat within the club Williams had a headclash and came off second best he was being taken from the ground at three quarter time very groggy and being helped by two trainers he looked in a bad way.Maybe they were going to send him for observation and he left thinking he could drive himself and later realised he could not, just a thought.

I was one of the few tri colour supporters on the weekend and i happened to see the incident that had Williams carried off looking very groggy and was told that he had blood coming from his ears. From a tigers veiw i would have seen this to be quite serious.

As for the "Rift" i have been reading i would have to agree with toodogs and codola. There is obviously something going on down at tigerland between williams and armstrong. Williams played a year in reserves last year ( Clearly winning the goalkicking) and is now the leading goalkicker in seniors. Which begs to ask the question why armstrong didn't play williams last year (a "rift" between the two).

So in regard to armstrong and williams it seems to be a bitter relationship. In others comments made about the players lack of respect for armstrong, this must beg the question will the tigers players end up moving on (as like the situation with us two years ago).

FN74, your interpretation of my statements is incorrect. If you read correctly you will see that I have categorically denied any rift at Tigerland between the coaching staff and any of the players! Your statement on how Willo was injured is correct though... it was a little unsavoury but in general; I thought the umpires were generally fairly good over the entire game.:thumbsu:
I'm not sure where all the "rift rumours" are coming from but I guess when things don't go your way people are quick to turn. "tholderiget" is clearly not involved with any club; he thinks sitting in the crowd at a game and making cowardly statements over the fence makes him qualified to bag the people who get off their arses and make a committment to an organisation.
This year, like every other year at each Club in this league; the football committee's will sit down with the coaching committee's and evaluate the season just gone and make plans for the season ahead. Unless you are on a football committe or coaching committee; you are not qualified to make any predictions about what could happen. "theolderiget" will have to get a little bit older before he finds that out!:D

Its probably too late to let any of his mates know, but this afternoon at Reid Oval, Chris 'Nose' Smith plays his 250th game of senior football in the ACT.

Nose played 208 games for Eastlake/Southern Districts etc in firsts and reserves, and is playing his 42nd game for the Woden Blues today.

Its a phenomenal effort for Nose, and we wish him well

Good luck Nose, would love to get down there but I'm sure you'll be celebrating after what should be a comfortable win.:thumbsu:

TD ABH So history does repeat although i suspect there was no plane involved this time. The sad part is i remember that game well.:thumbsu:

I only have a few points to make about yesterdays remarkable result. Lets put it into perspective.

Belco had not lost in 11 outings and Qbn had not won in 7. The Magpies have had the wood on the Tigers since 2001 with only one previous victory in that time to the Tigers. 3 weeks ago at the same venue I witnessed the most embarrassing loss I had seen by a Tigers side in my time at the club. 109 points!

Many on this site were writting garbage about a "rift" and the players lack of respect for Mark Armstrong.

To those "nutters" I hope your still rubbing your eyes this morning wondering if it was all just a dream because in reality if your an honest person and you saw the game the final margin of 4 goals flattered the Magpies as they were totally outplayed from the 20 minute mark of the 3rd term. It was only 3 late goals that made the board look respectful. I also hope you can acknowledge how great a game Merv played as he ripped Raadts a new one and pulled the pants down of Barton in a dominant display.

To those "Fisherman" from last week, you surely now have to concede that the words Mark Armstrong and Respect belong together in a positive way in a sentence as the players played their "guts" out for the club yesterday.

Tigers have now beaten every side in the competition and have proven what they are capable of. Unfortunately it may well be to little to late.

No loss is a good loss but I think it will have shaken any complacency out of the Magpies who appeared to be cruising to the flag. I still think they are unbackable favourites but yesterday did show that you can never take anything in this game for granted and you can never write off a Champion Player!!

Good summary ABH. Had to feel for Mark over recent weeks, under enormous pressure then to go out and give one of best displays I have seen from a player coach and full forward. Says a lot about the bloke.
Good team effort too to get the ball to him.

Sure they have beaten every side but every side has beaten them..therein lies the Tigers problem!!

I am with you in that Belco. will pull their finger out now and take a lot of stopping.

Does anyone know what happened at Manuka on two fronts?
What was the behind the play thing,( C/Times today), that resulted in Nick Davis being stretchered off with a dislocated knee and what is going to happen to Ainslie and Belco for not supplying top up players for the Swans as per the agreement.

Fair chance with the Lakes having 24 to use and the Swans only 22 it was the difference in the result???

Couldn't have said it better myself ABH.:thumbsu: Whilst I was working all day and didn't catch the game; I received updates regularly from different sources. Was very happy to hear that Swervin played out of his skin and gave Raadts and Barto a bath - both quality defenders!
On a quick calculation; Tigers need to win all remaining games and Eastlake need to lose 2 or Ainslie need to lose 4..:thumbsd: Not great odds but odds none the less and I for one will be taking them.:D Especially as Ainslie play Sydney, Eastlake, Belco and finish up with the Tigers for the Muir Cup in the last round. If they lose the next three and the Tigers win the next three; will make for a great final round..:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Actually I counted only 21 as Grundy's name is now missing from the list. With the injuries during the game, I think the Swans were down to none on the bench?

Belconnen had at least two top up players - Irvine and Bunyan (who both should have been in the best), how many is each club supposed to supply?

I don't know - maybe it was a mix up because Smith and Grundy were named on Friday but Smith was a late change for Malceski and I believe Grundy also flew down to Melbourne.

ABH,

Great summary of the game.
As a Belco supporter, it was a disappointing loss.
The attack on the ball by the Tigers was that of late 2007.
The only concern that I could see was the poor body language of Williams. Sure he was having a bad day (and I am sure that we have all had them) but surely the reaction of his team-mates when a goal was kicked or a inspirational chase (Kirkwood last quarter) would get him excited.
Hope that they did not play there GF yesterday.

If your a belco supporter Ill give up going to the footy!

Great to see merv surve up a dish of humble pie. definately the difference between a very good player and a champion is the ability to fight back when the world is against you. :thumbsu::thumbsu: massive thumbs up

Unfortunately the Tigers have put themselves into a position where every match is a Grand Final.

On Kirkwood, how good was he. The lad is 17 years of age and played 3 games during the week in the U/18's Championships in Melbourne.
He has the confidence to back his ability against all comers and his never say die attitude will get the young guy very far. On top of his football ability is the fact he is a really good lad and is keen to learn.

Watch out for him being drafted if not this year then definately next year.

That is quite possibly the DUMBEST post ever on this thread.
And that's saying something because there have been a few in its time.
Belco ARE the best side in the league and this loss will be just the tonic to make them work even harder and then, be more difficult for everyone else to beat.
Yesterday they were beaten by a side that was more desperate, more willing to do the little things for each other, thats all, I'm sure Mahery wouldn't be doing the lolly, gives him ammo to give the boys a bit of a rev.
They had won their previous 11 including the Swans twice (once in Sydney) and it looked like they thought they would turn up and it would happen but we all know thats not the case in any league and at any level.
Queanbo played at their best and Belco were slightly down on the day, but Queanbo showed great spirit to regain the lead twice in the 3rd term and then really run away with it in the last.
As ABH said 4 goal scoreline flattered them in the end.

Not eligible for drafting this year.
Misses cut off date by 7 days.
Next year who knows.:D

merv kicked 10 goals the belco player was older than his dad!

You really are a goose mate.
Don't think Raadts is that old, and he has had Merv's measure over the last couple of times they have played.
Why not just marvel at the skill and determination of a great local player.
