i'm with southside boy.. i would like 2 know how many actually played 18's with eastlake and not a product of marist which is a massive luxury the demons have with that connection

In all honesty who cares. Belconnen and Tuggeranong have the population base eastlake, ainslie and even Queanbeyan don't have. WHO CARES every club has there perks as to where they have to draw there young talent from. I think you will find you are going over old ground here with this argument, because at the end of the day it means jack shit.

But one thing i will say that the entire competition has improved in giving the local kids a crack at it, as to probably 10-15 years ago when the league was dominated by outsiders, as the clubs have realised that when the shit does hit the fan they can rely more on the locals sticking it out then the recruits that will run for the hills.

In saying that the junior competetion in Canberra has also improved in this time due to the work clubs have put in there for giving a wider range of kids a crack at it.

How about i see your five eastlake locals and raise you 6. There were a total of 11 players from the local area playing for the dees on sunday. 8 of which are 21 and under, Not a bad result for a club putting time and money into juniors

It all depends on what you call juniors. It seems to me that your posting has a two fold meaning. You quote 5 Eastlake juniors and then raise it by 6 to a total of 11 from the "local area". Can you disect with names and include who is a junior and who is from the local area in the 11.

Should be a great round of footy, .Disriticts footy grand finals last weekend seen every team that won the prelim won the flag.I hope for toodogs the same happens hear .On the medal you would have to think that neely would recieve more of the single votes and this want be enuogh. Givin the season belco have had i think underwood would get enough of the 3 votes to account for his opposition.

on the marist/eastlake front. Apparently eastlake are pulling out on the marist deal (they provide $10,000 annually to marist in return for players to be "pushed/asked" to go to eastlake)

Not sure why this would be that case as marist has been a very good hunting ground for eastlake and i thought they would want to continue it.
the only club that could take marist up would be tugg (due to the location/region) but tugg obviously dont have $10,000 pre yr to give to a junior club. also how are marist going to survive without the that money each yr if they are relying on it?

Hopefully we can make it 3 GF's in 3 years with two wins. Will not be easy but as you know, sitting in the box is a great roller coaster of emotions... especially during the finals series. Win or lose; I am getting too old for this shit!

David Wark has accepted a position at Flinders University. I think he will be involved in the technical side of sport or something of that nature. I know some will say good riddance but I for one wish him all the best in his new role. I always found Warkie to be an up front and honest person who always delivered on a promise.

Can anyone out Ainslie way (AFC1) confirm or squash the rumour I have heard of a few players and a coach getting into a bit of finger pointing and argy bargy after the loss to Eastlake?? Apparently one mentioned player has done this sort of thing before at another club.

David Warks resignation is a huge loss for AFL Canberra. He will be extremely hard to replace. His return to Adelaide at the end of September leaves a large hole in the administration of the League. All the best to one of the gentlemen of football.
