Just saw the Poll and Voted.
Surely because of the number of voters and the fact that not only Crows supporters would vote this should be a story in the Advertiser.
Come On Rucci

One for the Crows fans:Who should be Coach in 2005?

Neil Craig 31%

Rodney Eade 69%

Total Votes: 2645

Should be a big enough sample for Cornesy! ;)

And the email has been sent. :)
...and read out. Cornesy even managed a much more interested "Phhhwww....hmmm.."

He also read out my shot at Rucci over his "totally incorrect" suggestion about Eade and a one week deadline.

Thanks Cornesy.

I was wondering if that was you
I only caught the a$$ end of it but i had an inkling it was you. Did KG say anything? He is a tool.

Ayresy is leading the Hawks poll for next year...so good for him, i hope he gets it and does well.

Great work Arrowman.

The poll got even got a "Hmmmmm..." from KG.

Good work mate. Well done.

Surely a poll result like that has to be taken into account by the club in its decision making over the coach. They are already concerned about the amount of supporters that are not attending games but if they appoint Neil Craig and the season turns sour then watch what happens.

Perhaps we should be emailing the club not 5AA the poll results! AFC should expect a huge backlash if Craig is appointed & we continue to play the same crap football of the past month.

Thanks for the kind words people. :)

As for poll --> club - eh, I'd like to think the club has a better "finger on the pulse" than just listening to 5AA callers and reading the Advertiser/Mail. In particular I'm sure someone in the club has noticed the poll and they all get feedback on a personal basis from mates who would give them a clue as to how knowledgeable supporters are thinking.

As for whether it would/should have an effect - well, I was going to say "much as I'd like them to, I think they should ignore popularity polls" but on reflection I think Fergus and Kane make good points; all other things being equal (and they're not, of course!) the popluarity / marketing risk of the decision would have to be some sort of consideration.

But coaching qualities come first. Thankfully in this case all criteria point in the same direction.

Yeah, yeah, optimistic I know. But I'm a lot less pessimistic than I was a couple of weeks ago.

Edited to add: Just a comment on KG & Cornesy. I actually don't think they've done a terrible job on this.

KG may be a tool and he may not have had much to say when it comes to considered assessment of the options, but at least he hasn't (in the times I have listened) been pumping up Craig's tyres all the time.

Cornesy may be a fence-sitter but likewise. A lot of people (who call in) seem to think that Graham doesn't like Craig because of the time when he (Cornes) was Crows coach, but I think that's clearly garbage. It seems to me that Cornes would be a lot more of an Eade advocate if he could let himself go a bit.

But at least neither of them have said idiotic things like "let's just appoint Craig now and get it over with" like certain other dumbos in the media.
