I never seem to read anything about AFL membership tickets with Crows being the club of aligned choice.
My son and family were foundation members of Footy PArk but after the 2 Premierships and hassles of getting tickets for the Grand Final he took out AFL membership and made the Crows his aligned club.
He gets a discount as he is a Country member (living in Adelaide). He is entitles to 40 free games in Melbourne during the minor round as well as all games at AAMI. He also gets finals in Melbourne during the first 2 weeks (missed out a bit this year), He gets free admittance to Preliminary finals anywhere...although he has to pay a booking fee of $11.50. Added to that he gets his Grand Final ticket for $80.00.
I get the feeling that, with this deal, the Crows memberships pale into insignificance...11 home games a year?
Are there any othe Big Footy Crows or Port supporters who take out AFL membership because of better value??

I have thought about AFL membership from time to time, if it's anything like the value it appears to be (as you have described) it's a complete rort! :)

But how much is it?

I will be signing up for an AFL membership next year. Is there a waiting list?
I was reading yesterday that it would cost me (bear in mind that I'm a concession card holder) about $350 for the first two years and then $200 each year after that. It was more for an adult obviously but you can find a link on to a brochure on the AFL site.
It seems remarkable value.

Info on the AFL site starts here:

http://afl.com.au/default.asp?pg=membership&spg=membership

But note:
As Adelaide Crows have reached Membership capacity, only Members currently with this Club Package may take up the Adelaide Crow’s Club Support option. This restriction only applies to Members living in South Australia.

WIth the full adult membership costing $395 (plus joining fee) this is an extraordinary membership option if you're Victorian based, less so but still better value than AAMI Stadium membership (?) if you're Adelaide based and even if you don't get to Melbourne games that often.

I think about $320 a year...For an extra $100 a year he is guaranteed undercover reserve seating. He also said he thinks there are only about 400 Crows supporters who take up the options. He reckons it is great value.

Interesting

2 things, does the AFL membership extend to entry to Subiaco? And if I '' align'' myself to the Eagles :o can I still go to ANY Grand Final ?

My understanding is that it extends to Subiaco so you could go to this weeks finals as well as preliminary finals. My son is going to this years GF but am unsure how the GF works.

OK, this is how it works. you'll begin as a silver member, and there is a waiting list to become a full member. it took us i think 6 or 7 years. and you have to be a full member to get all the benefits. for example, free prelim finals tickets (it cost us $42 for four tickets. $80 each for GF tickets, as compared to $189. we are aligned to the Crows and managed to get brilliant seats for last years GF dead on the wing, like literally smack bang on the wing! if the crows make it, we get our seats on sunday, if not then i think we are monday (possibly tuesday), but bear in mind, this is for the great southern stand, which is mainly good seating anyway! we also go to the ANZAC day match in Melb every year, only pay a booking fee. on a weekend in Melb sometimes it is possible to see four matches and not pay a cent. fri night, sat, sat night and sunday. free entry to telstra dome as well as MCG. seats for all crows home games. benefits such as free entry to the crows shed. we can also go to port games for free (except the showdown - have to book a ticket for that game) just have to show membership card at gate 6 or 9 for seat allocation. we have also been to optus when it was around and the gabba, i dont think we paid anything to get in there either. so i would assume that subi would be the same. if you align yourself to the weagles then you will get seats to their home games. when you become a full member, you are almost guaranteed a GF ticket if you want one. just be on the phone early to get a great one!

hope some of that helped people out there who might be considering AFL membership. we were also offered gold crows membership this year, but it didnt really give us any extra benefits for the $80 it was going to cost so we didnt take it up. i believe that we are counted as crows members also.

The only thing that having a gold membership offers is that it allows you obtain one of the guaranteed GF tickets offered through the AFC. If you arent a gold AFL member then you only have the same rights as AFC silver members.

So if anyone is a silver AFL member you must have a gold AFC membership to be able to get a guaranteed GF ticket. If you are a gold AFL member then you wont have any trouble getting one.
