There has been some word that they are trying to make the format more like a game - so only having the two ruckmen in the team with 6 centremen.

IMO you would have to get lloyd, especially with the new push in the back rule he will kick over 100 goals.

Im really iffy about whether to get him or not. Especially with Pav sitting a bit below him and freo likely to have a pretty damn good season. It will be hard to get both into the one team id thing, unless you sacrifice somewhere else. Also Lloyd avg 94 (IIRC), so he could well drop in price after the first few games, especially since they play Adelaide and Freo in the first two games

Is this for fanfooty or AFL dreamteam?

9 backs, 8 centres, 4 rucks, 9 defenders - is that the new setup for dreamteam?

apparently thats what the new structure is for dream team

by the way what do ppl think of fraser
he is only bout 390,000

Monty, if those projected prices are right, they are significantly higher than last year. There are 170 odd players above $300,000, double the amount of last season.

I'm guessing if the salary cap is the same, the AFL Dream Team will have a lot of unfinished teams. Those who fill 17 spots on their list and realise they have no more room in their salary cap will just give up and forget all about it. Then if you're serious about the Dream Team, which most of us all, we will understand that everyone is in the same boat.

Makes the choice of captain so much more important too.

Fantasy scores were higher across the board last year. And where are you getting that double figure from? Remember that prices declined significantly over the course of the year because they used a smaller multiplier to calculate price changes than they used at the start of the year.

I start with the cheap options 1st, loadup with all the potential kids then start adjusting from there with the leftover $$$'s. Ok so I like seeing $3mil in me bank for a few minutes ;)

A few must haves on my list of seniors:

Simon Black= Big year helping out a team full of kids.
Greg Laganus= Only if he is a reasonable price, which I doubt he will be.
Sandilands= Time to stand a bit taller.
Nathan Brown snr= Should be a nice price.
Stenglein=Improver
Hodge=If a sane price
Franklin=If price is ok.

I like the look of Hasleby where he is at the moment. He and P. Burgoyne both look tasty at thier current prices
Love your thinking, Peter Burgoyne is a near certainty in my team. He will be steal at 280,000, but i have a few doubts on Hasleby at 309,600.

Looking for thoughts on Brent Moloney from Melb. Tried to play through OP last year with no luck. Good player, and fan footy suggests only 248,100. Even if he only averages 70, he still means a cheapish, but very reliable centre. How is his preseason going?

I agree with the Haselby/P. Burgoyne train of thought to. Noone will make my team if they don't look like they are going to make me money, and all indicators suggest they both will.

In terms of Moloney, he has actually been in my tentative squad from day one. From what I've read over the last couple of months, he is primed to get consistent games which should lift his price nicely. My only concern is that players coming back from injury are often slow starters, so he could be made a scapegoat if the Dees fail to get off to a flyer IMO

Re: Dream Team

Tip of the day

Buy:
Jon Brown, Kane Cornes, Luke Power, Nick Riewoldt, Cameron Bruce, Joel Bowden, Chris Judd, Barry Hall, Matthew Pavlich, Paul Chapman, Shaun Burgoyne, Brad Johnson and Dean Cox.

Dont Buy: Trent Hentchell

You'll thank me later....use the spare change to pick up this yrs smokey David Rodan (bloody champ that guy)

29 year old's returning from injury are not fun in dreamteam. There's stacks of better centres IMO

who would u pick and why?

Griffen, Van Berlo, Moloney, Foley, Pendlebury, P. Burgoyne, J.Kelly

P'bury seems least likely as i would think he would have the best least amount of game time.

Moloney, i will have to check how he is going with his injury, could take a little while to get back into it.

J. Kelly, lost the passion for footy which doesnt bode too well for a player i need to improve, still i think he is very skilled and i would imagine will play all games for the cats.

P. Burgoyne, doesnt seem too hampered by his injury, a little risky, but he is a class player, would imagine he will get right back into the swing.

Foley, i dont know a whole lot about him, seems to be a bit of a ball magnet, dont know how he will do in a relatively inexperienced midfield, any info on him would be great.

Van Berlo, looks set to step up his game and from what i can gather is a starting midfielder. Will be helped playing alongside goodwin, edwards etc.

Griffen, my most likely choice, had him last year. My real problem is he never produced a 100+ game, which is what you want every now and then from a decent centre. Consistent player who seemed to play all year in the backline, will he push up to midfield more?

Thank you for any further comments.

Kidding yourself about David Rodan, he will play a few games early on but that is about it. He will get found out again at that level. He will always be a quality player at VFL, SANFL, WAFL level but not quite good enough for the big league.

One you should look at buying this year would be Brock McLean and Ryan Griffen. The one I will be putting into my team and expecting a very big year from is Lance Franklin.
