Gotta say it. Gothelions has better player ratings.
I'll have the updated(minor adjustments) player ratings list ready in the next day or two, taking the this season so far into account. So those who have access to the player hub can start tweaking those ratings in game. For example; I'm going to put players like Clayton Oliver, Sam Reid, Harris Andrews and Orazio Fantasia up and players such as Tom Boyd, a few Hawks a bit down.

I'd rather the ratings be a bit out and have the ability to edit them, than for them to be spot on (which people would STILL cry about) and for the ratings to be locked and uneditable. I'd rather spend the time to edit the players I want, and if by the end of the year a certain player like Oliver is much improved I can adjust my game/ career accordingly...

Yes some of the ratings are a little off (pruess is rated the lowest on NM's list), yet in reality he's pushing Goldy (our highest rated) out of his spot.

I think you'll find that player ratings are more about overall team balance than anything. If they lift one persons rating they'd have to reduce someone elses to keep the overall team rating the same.

BALANCE is key here people.

To be fair on the Preuss one, he's played three games of AFL and all of those occurred well after they would've done the Ratings.

don't know whether this has been asked or answered.

having a look at the attributes there is no potential rating. in career mode how do the players ratings increase/decrease every season?

By making a sacrifice to WW

That can't be a good sign.

Means it'll probably be that training system again, meaning players don't decrease in attributes (or at least I don't think they did).

There was a screenshot earlier in this thread asking them about the decline of player stats as they get older and WW confirmed that players stats will decline with age, lack of game time, etc.

As to how that is done in the game remains to be seen, of course.

It doesn't put me off getting it and it isn't a big deal, but those ratings are pretty mediocre.
Might have a look at any updated ratings/player changes that users create and upload if that is an option, but so far I'll probably edit some Freo player ratings and not the other teams as I am a bit too lazy for that.
So far I'll be dropping Zac Clarke a bit and putting Alex Pearce up a bit. For Pearce to have the same rating as new draftee Logue, it's a bit ridiculous.

When I saw how bad players like Clarke and Dawson looked I was pretty frustrated then I realised we can edit the non facescanned players and I was fine with it and moved on (I suggest some of you do the same)

But seriously a trailer has to come out today surely

I like the idea of Champion Data being involved in order to determine player ratings. They have so much fine tuned information on match statistics that the results would be pretty true to form.

e.g Want to rate kicking distance? Look at player's % of uncontested kicks exceeding 40m
Want to rate handball ability? Look at DE% of handballing
Want to rate a player's endurance? Look at the ground coverage and heat map

It could go on and on. I would personally be happy to pay ~$20 for DLC for updated ratings from Champion Data every year that a new title isn't released (so long as the gameplay of said title is solid).

No wonder AFL games traditionally have terrible gameplay, all the fans really want Wicked Witch to focus on are player stats that please everyone and face scanning the Werribee seconds haha.
That's what you got from reading this?

The huge amount of people saying "Just give us good gameplay" has actually been lampooned.
