Does anyone remember this game? Was really the first PC AFL game.

I thought it was a great game!
Very easy though once you got used to it!

I got bored one day and decided to play a full match, 25 minute quarters. ..


Sydney Vs Carton..

I won something like 956 - 72.
Score was something liek that ..

Tony Lockett kicked 66 goals I think
And I had young Paul Licuria in the side, in a forward pockett. He kicked 60 IIRC.

Something like that :p
 
Yep fun game that for about 2 months!

I played on the Pro-Squad (Highest level) as Fitzroy & Beat Noth 56.24 to 22.35 :rolleyes:

Played as Melbourne one day & kicked 88 goals! Lyon kicked 30 odd!

No challenge at all, I've still got the game somewhere, it'd provide a challenge for a little tacker I reckon.
 
That game rocked.

You could even take a toilet break without pausing the game and when u got back you were winning by more than before :p
 
Great game. The best AFL game still in my opinion. AFL 98 got so easy after 2 weeks i ended up having to play as the opposition for the first half trying to set up a target to catch in the second half.
AFL 99, after 1 match, was the same...you had to force yourself to play bad just to have a close game.

I still play Finals Fever all the time. Im going thru each team having a 12 round season with 5 minute quarters with each team. For some reason it goes at about double speed on my computer to what it should so it makes it a little more challenging.

Just finished a 12 round season as the Bulldogs and the first to go thru undefeated 12-0.
Scores were:
WB 14.23 def Bris 8.11
WB 19.14 def Fitz 18.11
WB 32.17 def St K 9.12
WB 14.13 def Rich 11.10
WB 20.10 def Ade 11.7
WB 31.16 def Geel 5.2
WB 26.12 def WC 8.4
WB 24.8 def Freo 9.14
WB 20.14 def Coll 3.12
WB 31.14 def Haw 9.9
WB 19.12 def Carl 7.14
WB 21.17 def Ess 7.15

Allen Jakovich (at Full Forward) kicked 90 goals in those 12 games. Danny Hargraves in a pocket kicked 60 goals and Luke Darcy at CHF kicked 45.

This was on the hardest level :D

I think I kicked something like 156 goals, I am not sure exactly, I know Lockett kicked about 66 and Licuria kicked around 60 from the FP

Yeah I must say I was disappointed. Normally it was bull**** when they got a goal, as they suddenly played okay and got a couple in a row, then I followed on and kicked the next 40 odd .. :D

It really is that kind of game :D.

Oh & Macca I've resorted to the play 1 half as each team tactic myself.

i still play afl 99

well not since the home and away season finished.

i play on turbo mode which is quite fast and play the hardest level on final 8 mode and still woop it's arse, unless i try to challenge myself.

like try to out tackle the opposition, still usually win easily

I think Danny Morton was the fastest player in the game.... I edited the teams so I could have him in there... I remember you could only score goals from either straight in front, or exactly on a 45degree angle....

Don't know if anyone else did the same cheat or not;

When you kicked a behind, at the change of screen where you saw the full back running to the goal square to kick out, if you made the full forward hop continuously in the direction of the ball and beat the full back to it, you could pick it up and kick a goal. 7 point plays were the best!

hey i tried looking for a torrent for this - can you tell me where, i had this game but have no idea where the hell it is now after all this time.
i always loved it because it felt like you were playing at the G
 
Fill your team with the paciest players on your list and you'd barely give up a score.

Only annoying part of the game was if you changed the default team and put some other players in, the next time you played these players disappeared for a match and would only return the 2nd match you played that session.
