Great to see some news after along time. Also great to see some interaction between the fans and the creators. Lets hope the game will be out next year and will live up to expectations.
 
Is it true Ant that you only get to test the game, due to your BF name being the 2nd word of the developer?

If this is the way things happen these days, i'm more than happy to change my name to Playboy for an invite from Hef!

LOL, nice tag line for the Rugby game 'The Greatest Game Of All', the guy who thought of this deserves a medal of some sorts, this is truely inspirational thinking.
 
It is also interesting that the banner 'AFL- Coming in 2010' still remains, if it wasn't coming out this year, I'd say they'd have taken it down.

I can't wait until this game comes out. I think it would be a massive seller especially in Victoria. Hopefully it's alot better than previous AFL games. A "dynasty" type mode would be awesome with trading, drafting, delistings etc.

...and an option to lure them out of retirement when they give up the game to become a professional dancer etc (like in 07?)..... NOT.

Perhaps reverse that & have delisting reasons like, you're a crab!

Some have called for a tutorial, perhaps this could be made as a pre game warm up type thing. Have the option to turn tutorial off but after they run out, press X for tutorial and the game would then take you through goal kicking & most importantly how to mark (if they complicate it like 07? hit circle when the outer circle crosses the inner circle but only when the outer circle changes colour & looks like a square) :)
 
I think its clear that they wont be focusing too much on features for the first game
So what limited features can we expect then

I would expect some sort of season mode/carreer mode with just each round, and an updated ladder, finals, then list managment (drafting, trading). Might be some faults in the trading ala AFL 2007, but as long as the gameplay is good that is all that matters

Will be interesting how deeply they go into tactics. Wouldnt be a very hard thing to put into the game i dont think, and i would like to think that things like zoning, and flooding are choosable

To be honest, there would have to be another feature other than season mode to get people to buy the game. I reckon that a Mission mode, as seen in other games is quite a good initiative, and once again not too hard to implement

Lastly, i think that we will see some sort of training mode added to the game. Where we can work on specific areas.

There might be a create your own character in this first version, but i doubt it will be anything highly detailed or like Be a Pro. Maybe just a create and add to list deal.

Anything else that we should realistically expect from the first installment ?
 
I am sure it has already been said but if the AFL game can be like the FIFA and NBA games with season mode (with drafting, salary caps, delistings, trading, creating players, creating teams it will be decent)

In addition having a be a pro mode (like in FIFA) would be awesome (doubt it will happen)
All Australian team, I can remember it was in premiership edition (03 -04 sometime) was great. Even having a Manger mode type where you are just the coach would be good as well.

Oh I see happy eagle has pretty much already said what I have said. Well clear evidence this is what the gamer wants so GIVE IT TO US programmers.
