The biggest issue is that AFL is like no other sport with interchanges, no other game has 80 interchanges happening as quickly and as often as AFL does.

The NHL (Ice Hockey) does with their Line Changes system with offensive and defensive lines changing very often (sometimes players are on the ice for less than 45 seconds). The sports science behind the constant line changes in the NHL is one of the reasons we have so many interchanges in the AFL today.

EA's NHL 10' does well to manage Line Changes but it works easier as the "Lines" are always pre-defined and grouped.

Hey guys, the "development cops" are onto me - some people aren't happy that I'm sharing, they think that if they say no to me at work I'll just say "too late" I told BF it would be in :)

Noticed a few similar IP's popping up as new posters. :)

Ahk, so how does that work in the NHL games? Since I'm a hockey n00b is a 'Line' like how you would describe a HF, CHF, HF type of line in AFL? And they just rotate with another set of guys like that?

Sharing is good as long as you don't add more feature please.... This is the problem when the boss is, without doubt, as passionate about the game as anyone who will be buying it.

The interchange discussion has been great and a good deal is inline with what is happening already, which is fantatic to know we are meeting what people want.

Maybe a combination of my idea and dyanmite kid's.

When your players start to show fatigue, they could pop up bottom right on the screen with a little d pad arrow.

like -> S. Byrnes 41%
^ P Chapman 45%
< M Blake 0%

You press the pad on the player you want to substitute. Then it would come up with all 4 options on the bench in a similar fashion.

> M. Duncan 100%
^ J. Selwood 100%
etc

This would be a really unobtrusive way to utilise the bench whilst not disrupting the play.
It would let you make the substitutions on the fly when on the mark or lining up for goal with only 2 button presses.
Thoughts?

i see big Ant has a lot of Carlton supporting employees... Smart people. lol

Question 1 in the interview - How long have you been a Carlton supporter? :)

and the only correct answer is my whole life? lol

well, mine is all my Australian life, so hope that counts. I'm originally from the UK.

I'm as passionate about AFL as is possible, blame Ross for my Carlton affiliation, and although i've been told i'm being unbritish (or rather unsaviour words to that affect!) by my uk mates, i'd rather watch an AFL game than a Premiership Match in England, and given I still play 5 a-side-soccer myself here that's a big statement from a guy that was feed soccer as his lunch and dinner everyday for 30+ years.

You guys have a sport that should be more widespread, rather than the overpaid stars of less exicting games of "football".

Just on the interchange - 5 minute quarters are bound to drain a fair bit of energy pretty quickly.

Say a player gets the ball and you can see his energy levels are down, but he isn't coming up in the interchange pop up screen. Could you possibly just press a button (most likely LB or LT for xbox) and that is an indicator to tell him to go to the bench. This could also be used to 'drag' a player who might be having a bad game, or commit an undisciplined act.

Then a little pop up in the right corner with the following:

These are the players on the bench*

Press up to bring on Judd (who's energy has risen back to 94%)
Murphy has been injured and cant be brought back on.

Just an idea anyway.

Will Aker be sacked after round 16?

Very sad indeed.... :(

when he files his unfair dismissal, will Gillard be on his side or the dogs? :)

As always, this won't be up long!

PS: I know I said someone else would be next, but at least Aker's got a little bit of a beard :)

He looks brilliant.

He's a very sexy man! Not that's there's anything wrong with that and not that he's into that or anything, but if indeed he was he wouldn't say :)
