Are you gonna grab it Quivorir?

No.

Future patches, or the DLC may change that, but from what ive seen I cant justify buying it when as soon as GTA comes out it will never leave my PS3.

Does anybody know how to get your players to lead to the ball? This is very frustrating. The target lock system and kick to lead button does not work that well. Players just stand there, when they mark the ball.

As good as that sounds (and I'd definitely donate a coupla hunj), I'd assume the problem here is the AFL licensing.

Did you ever play NFL BLITZ : The League 2 BigAntStudios ?

Would it at all be possible to do an AFL version of something like that. No licences, totally fictional but still addictive and fun for something so arcadey? Cracked it out for the first time in years and playing it heaps with Bigredmachine and TheJaegerBomb.

I reckon a 9v9 AFL version would be awesome, even if just for PSN/XBL

I emailed Tru Blu in late July a number of times to find out who the developer was. They flat out ignored my question.

This is how the email exchange went:

Hi,
I'm hoping to get some coverage around AFL Live 2 on XXX and xxxx. We currently have a discussion on XXXX, while AFL Live was one of the more popular games on the forums.
It would be great if someone at Tru Blu/HES could inform as to who is developing the game, as that is something the community appears to be the most interested in.
Cheers,
XXXX
And this is the reply I got:
Hi XXXX,
Please find attached some screenshots for you.
Kind Regards,
XXXX
I went to Gamescom last month and among the small Aussie contingency there I was told that Wicked Witch were developing, but TruBlu did not want to divulge this because of the negative press it would have created.
The game doesn't list Wicked Witch ANYWHERE. Can't imagine the developer is very pleased about that.
That's a disgrace, on several fronts. Given the reception, I wonder if WW aren't better off without their name on it.

Game aside, Tru Blu has behaved in a very questionable manner.

I just got an email today from JBHIFI, telling me that the game was shipped out today. A week earlier then the scheduled release date? AWESOME! :D

I have a few questions if someone wouldn't mind answering. Considering making the 40km hike to the nearest Target or EB Games, but will most likely leave it until tomorrow as i'm lazy :P

-What options do you have for team guernsey's? In particular, can you play in North's home strip with white shorts?

-Is each stadium available? That is, TIO Stadium, Bellerive, Cairns, Adelaide Oval?

-Are the fixture's for 2014 and beyond realistic? As in, no game between Adelaide and West Coast at AAMI Stadium on a Saturday night with the other Sat. night game being Port v Geelong at AAMI as well?

-Is there a twilight option? If so, does the sunlight slowly disappear or is it just a day game in the first half and a night game in the second?

-Can you adjust player numbers? Such as, changing Aaron Mullett from 41 to 4, for example?

Some thoughts.

I will probably get shut down for being so negative but ah well.

I've always been a supporter of AFL games on any gen of console, having purchased every single one since AFL 98. Even the PSP monstrosity AFL Challenge.

Anyway heres what i think of AFL live 2:

This game is by far the biggest let down of the lot so far, even after a short play this afternoon its clear this was rushed and no care was given towards developing this game. It is virtually the Wii game. Way behind AFL live 1 by Big Ant.

Some points:

-Kicking animations are just truly awful, players look like they are kicking a round ball, there are virtually no drop punt actions/animations at all. Also sometimes there aren't any kicking animations at all, the ball just randomly squirts away from the player.

-There are zero tactics that work from what i've found. The FF is constantly left on his own and any decent clearance will result in an easy goal.

-Crowd appearance and sound effects are truly laughable. Never has there been a decent crowd atmosphere on an AFL game but this is terrible. Would have been more preferable to just leave it out or turn it off. DO NOT LOOK AT THE CROWD CUT-OUTS IT WILL HURT YOUR EYES

-Commentary terrible again.

-The graphics are no better than the Iphone/Ipad version.

-Obviously as stated there are no club songs, pre game or post game.

I will give career a go tonight but i have no doubt in my mind i will be returning this game tomorrow.

Bring on FIFA 14.

The club songs are in game. Wait until final commentary finishes and it should play. Don't have the game yet though :( saw it on a vid of the game.

Just wondering if there is a way to use the audio commentary piece for your own player instead of them nicknames?
