Ross, are there any trophies/achievements for the game?
Tried to sneak in a look today but didn't have any that I could see

Not sure if you saw or not, but Ross did say the team lists are taken from the end of the simulated season, so there probably was a few injuries.

I don't know if it is the whole franchise or just the store but GAME in werribee one of the staff members in that store was telling me that they have had more pre-orders for afl live than than they had for the new halo.

That in it self is saying something and it really is a credit to Ross and the bigant team for getting rid of the horrible stigma the previous afl games left us with.

And for a game with a minimal budget to out order a game like halo Wich has a massive budget and millions of fans is once again a credit to Ross and the bigant team

+ 1 pre order ( and I haven't even played it yet ).

Going by the YouTube videos what Ross has given us and the reviews people gave the game will sell like hot cakes and be an absolute ripper.

Ps: big thanks to Melbournemartin for the reviews and YouTube videos that you have posted I on behalf of everyone here on bigfooty would like to thank you ( and you have helped out Ross alot with answering questions sure he too is very appreciative).

And I think some of your videos may have swayed peoples opinions or perceptions of the game along with your very in depth reviews and got Ross and the guys at bigant more pre-orders/purchases.

quick question: Has anyone seen an injury in the game? If so any details?

yeh mate i played 5 or so games at the first eb games chadstone play session, in one particular game i remember having 2-3 injuries, i remember one was definitely a calf that occurred when i got tackled i'm pretty sure. it isn't a special animation or anything like that but it comes up in the top right corner of the screen and says the player injured and what their injury is.

i'm guessing then in season mode it'll tell you how long they are out for. what i don't remember though is whether you have to interchange them off for someone or whether it automatically does it, cause i do remember having an injured player on for quite a while. may have to ask ross/seek clarification from him. they certainly do happen every now and then though which adds extra realism to the experience.

i've been wanting to post about my thoughts and opinions on the game here all week but i've been swamped with uni work, all i can say though is that i didn't want to leave chaddy i was enjoying it so much and that while i started to get a hang of the controls and how the game flowed by my 4th-5th game and started kicking some classy goals (does pav's checkside from the boundary ring a bell ross and michael haha? ) i can definitely say that there are so many added features that will make this game a challenge to master. for me this is one of the most exciting things that i took out of the day, it's very pick up and playable for the not so hardcore fans but for those of us who want the full afl experience then afl live certainly provides this too.

great job big ant! very excited that the game is hopefully no more than a month away!

The Port line up would be more like this

B: Surjan Carlile Chaplin
HB: P.Stewart Trengove Thomas
C: Pearce Cassisi Salopek
HF: Westhoff D.Stewart Kornes
F: Motlop Schulz Ebert
Fol: Brogan Boak Rodan

Int: Gray Hartlett Broadbent
Sub: C.Cornes

We wouldn't play Surjan, Logan and Kornes is the same defense, way too small.
Trengove and D.Stewart are our 2 most important KPP must be starting also our back up ruck options.
P. Stewart was our best young player last year and would definatly start in our defense.
Chad is past it now but is perfect for the Sub position (versatile and can make an impact coming on the ground).

the two games i played with port in the first chadstone play session definitely had chad cornes as the super-sub. i got there pretty early so i'm assuming that no one played as port adelaide before me haha, therefore i'm not sure if ross' screen is the default or not. kane cornes definitely started at half back which i quickly changed, and robbie gray was in the FP, no d.stewart in the line-up. easy as to put him in though, as it is to change the whole team around. it then saves the changes for the next games too which is very handy and saves a bit of time. other than that, the line up that i used i was pretty happy playing with (people were waiting so me and the other guy didn't bother changing starting line-ups). i also loved playing in the prison bar guernesy

btw robbed that essendon, melbourne and west coast finished above port in the simulated season!

I was going to Northland tomorrow, but i think i read Andy will be there on Saturday.

I have also convinced two mates of mine in the office to come check out the game. One was of the mindset the game will be rubbish just like the previous versions, but i explained this was built from the ground up and the intense research you and your team has found out from this public sounding board as a free resource. I would love to know how much your programmers actually changed the game content with what we have suggested through these 16000 posts!!!

If you are there on Sunday, that would seal the deal for my mates to pre order as I've talked this game up so much, to the point i want them to meet you and have a chat about the game! You should be awarded the "Best CEO of an Australian Company in 2011" for all your hard work and research.. plus appeasing us all on here!

I have been following these threads for over a year now and I have gone out and bought a PS3 specifically just so i can play it earlier than the PC version plus the benefit of having mates around for multiplayer. (That also reminded me to pick up a few extra controllers when im in) ... maybe EB/JB should do deals with AFL Live plus extra controllers as i can see the multiplayer being a really good selling point for this game.

Last I'm going talk of release dates until I have a copy in my hand- as said we don't have a date, we are waiting for approval and pressing, then they will be immidiately shipped to retailers-any date given is a guess.

Haha! You really got a problem with GAME Don't you? I thought it was unprofessional to talk about competition like the way you do? hehe!

I've heard the same thing kind of, I went to EB and asked them about it, the "only" nice guy was working there and said he's had a few pre order "one was mine" Went into JB and they where too busy so didn't bother asking, then went into Game and they said they where suprised at just how popular the game is, And they can't have been BSing me as the only other guy in the store had pre ordered it...

The game seems to be going viral down here in most stores, Though As I had said, EBGames in Adelaide aren't very good, Not many of us like the store unfortuantly. I do know theres a store in brisbane that's awesome, completely different than what I get here, So defo won't be suprised if Game get there own pre order bonus as they seem pretty popular down here now and there's 2 stores in like a 5km driving distance, and usually always have 3-5 people in them.

I personally think AFL should beat the crap out of Halo for Australia, I can't say how many sales it would have got, only 1 of my mates own the crappy game, 1 out of probably 15 who own a Xbox, While I've made them pretty much all go pre order.

I'm pretty sure there would be more die hard AFL Fans who own a casual console than the australian fanbase for halo......

I'm probably wrong, But pretty shit if an Australian rules game doesn't get more hype than some cyborg crap, Surely there's more die hard aussie afl fans than there would be actual die hard gamers?

If you want the inside scoop on any part of the game you should see Andy today at Northland, he was the lead designer.

I'll definitely be there at Frankston tomorrow at 10am until 2pm, I'm looking forward to it - old stomping ground, spent my teenage years sneaking into the 21st, Chart house, Leggies, etc... those were the days!
