That is a pretty old interview i think. Good to hear that they are smashing it sales wise - or at least were.

No, I don't believe it is actually. Ross? Edit: Ok, it is. Filmed sometime between release day and 21st of April.

Haven't finished watching yet, but a very articulate man you are Ross. Agree with your thoughts about the close ups of games on TV entirely. Very annoying.

One thing though, I'm a big fan of small cut scenes in sports games when their is a 'stoppage' in play, so to speak, but leaving them out does seem to work well in this game. I like not having any in online play but I'm undecided on single player. All I know is when the graphics improve with each iteration of the game, your probably going to want to show them off and I'm not sure the current game play camera angles (especially the more playable ones where the camera is zoomed out more) are really going to allow you to do this....Food for thought anyway and it's certainly a fine line to be treading.

Either way...Can't wait for the next iteration of AFL Live already!

Yeah let's hope it sells well so they can get the chance to make a second one and improve on 2011. There's plenty to work on but it's a good base and some patience and persistance pays off. (I say this only having had the game for 3 days!)

Thanks :)

It was filmed about a month ago, I think probably on the Tuesday after the sales started in Melbourne.

We definitely will be having a whole lot more cut scenes in single player. It's really unfortunate that we have such hi-res models and don't use them to full advantage, next time we will. Agreed that this should be a single player, skippable deal, I wouldn't want them in online. We will also allow clips to be shared onto facebook and youtube seamlessly and automatically (I've tested this and it *really* cool.)

Really happy to hear that Ross. I think that's the exact right decision in regard to cut scenes.

Really, really cool about adding clips to Facebook/Youtube too. Extremely early days yet, but from what we've heard about the sequel, it's shaping up to be one hell of a game :thumbsu:

Hi Ross, i am really impressed with the quality of the game. The gameplay is really a great base to build a solid franchise, and i commend you and your team for doing a fantastic job.

I've thought a great addition to the game would be the ability to change the camera on set kicks. I currently use the broadcast balanced camera and find it great but if on set kicks i could use the end to end camera it would help to see up the ground and spot up targets then as soon as the kick was taken the camera could revert back to broadcast balanced.

In the options menu you could have a choice for
-camera (general play) and
-camera (set kick)

does anybody else think this would fix some of the weaknesses with the camera options?

Use the radar.

I personally have no problem whatsoever with the default camera (side balanced). Combined with the radar, it allows me to spot targets up all over the ground.

Your suggestion, I feel, would only make online play completely unplayable with players just switching views after every mark to confuse their opponents (you'd lose sight of your controlled player and the direction your running etc.).

it wouldnt only switch views from your end not the opponents online.
