A 24 year old man believed to be an AFL footballer was stabbed in cottesloe this morning chasing away car thieves. (Stabbed in the calf with a screw driver)

Confirmed on ABC radio - it is former WAFL player Trevor Oliver from East Perth. 2009 B & F winner, now retired due to injury.

I haven't reached the level of trying on flying armbars for size just yet.. Unless it affected me or someone I loved i'd probably keep walking too, or alert the authorities.
