I've gone with 2 small, equal bets:

1. Geelong to win @ 3.25 - The only logic being they've won the last 11 against the Hawks, as we all know. Mainly, I just wanted to have some skin in the game.

2. Fremantle 1-39 @ 2.00 - Fremantle have only beat really poor teams by more than 39 and Sydney have only lost by more than 39 to Geelong and Hawthorn. This bet is meant to cover my Geelong bet. A caveat here is that, if Fremantle lose, I'll be more happy than if I'd won both these bets.

Had a bonus bet on centrebet so ended up taking Hawks -4.5/Freo -5.5 @2.07, the extra points kicked it up from 1.70 odd

Good luck champ. No idea about the Rugby but the Freo bet looks good.

Freo average 137% at HT compared to 143% Sydney.

Freo lost one home game by 4 pts this year. Sydney lost 4 away games.

I think tellingly is they have injuries and are traveling against a literally full strength Freo team that will be hungry and ravenous for a win to enter their first GF.

Without being too presumptuous, the line bet for Freo if the make it to the GF will be interesting and I may have a very small bet.

This will be the ugliest dirtiest scrubber game this year and thats the way Lyon likes it. I dont ever bet unders, but Im sure punters would be thinking the same.

True. The Hawks had the scoring shots and really missed clutch goals during the game.

Credit to the Hawks down by 20pts and losing 11 straight before that.

Varcoe had more time to kick that goal.

This will make you feel sick. The last two minutes of the game. When Varcoe has a shot from about 35-40m with about 35-40s left there is a Cats player at the bottom left of the screen by himself only 15m out from goal on his own.

Its one of the reasons I am always cautious of expecting a team to cover the minus handicap in a final.

The odds you took and the odds I took we could have backed the Cats by around +30.5 pts handicap

Apparently I read on here, that the Hawks were about $5 to win the flag at 3/4 time. I think next year I am going to look at more betting during the game.

With the restrictions on the Brownlow and the likelihood of ties etc, I am just not interested.

True, but just as often prelims end in blowouts when there is no chance at the quarter time
