another joke of a game from dawes when is enough? surely he is hanging by a thread no doubt in my mind Paine will offer more than
Dawes atm

I really don't understand the people knocking Dawes, I think we should persevere with him. I love his second efforts in the air and on the ground (more than I can say about Wood). His stats today were better than Goldsack's, should we drop him? No I don't think so.

I only worry when the ball is in Wood, Fasolo or Harry's hands.

We are winning with 11 walk-in players missing, lighten up and enjoy.

5 inside 50's, keeps the ball in our forward line, brings the ball to the ground for our crumbers and importantly contests aggresively.

I'm just going to cop out on the analysis and say they were awesome today. Cloke is a strong man, Daisy is dymanic and exciting, and Wellers-Beams-Sidey are just growing in stature. I'm very satisfied with the way the club si able to identify talent like Williams and Elliot.

Poor Dawes seems to have a reverse Midas touch at the moment but he'll come good. :)

That is because he literally couldn't take an overhead mark if his life depended on it. I like Dawes, however he is playing like a man 100% devoid of confidence ATM...

I expect him to get the axe this week and Tarrant to be brought in to manage his load as a forward so that he can dictate where and when he runs. Jolly will also get the call up to provide back up to Wood who was brilliant today (as you'd expect against such an inexperienced opponent).

I loved watching Jamie Elliott tonight, in his first full game of football he showed the footballing world what class he has.

That mark and goal at the Punt Road end (right in front of us;)) was superb, you just knew he had the confidence to go back and stick it through.

Also happy with the games of Marley Williams and the efforts of Ugle when he came on, he got to show his jets tonight, and it was fun to watch.

Overall, we got what we came for, percentage, about 12 percent in fact, I'll take that and run, as long as Pendles isn't too badly injured.

Bring on the Dees.:)

We win by near on 100 points and people are still not happy:rolleyes:

Seriously.

I stand to be corrected, but I haven't seen a poster that isn't happy with the result.

There is no such thing as football utopia (except the Cats demolition of Melbourne last year) so there will always be something worthy of critiquing.

Dawes will only be dropped if 1) the coaching staff believe that dropping him to the VFL will boost his confidence or 2) they genuinely believe Paine will offer more than Dawes.

Well we have Tom Young and Marley Williams that are holding those flanking roles in the backline. And Clarke has been better than Buckley this year, although Buckley did play better than Clarke tonight.

Marty Clarke was in our best five tonight. Easily his best game for the year, he put his body in tonight, every disposal hit its target and assisted teammates when the ball was in the air.

Heaps better than Buckley tonight.

Lol even then they missed the record score by a goal.

Went to the game and pretty happy with the result, don't think Dawes was as bad as what some are saying but he does need to put in some more second efforts.

Didn't see Pendles injury, but by the sounds of things it isn't too bad?

You can't judge anything on tonight, perhaps a few abberations though. Realistically there was never any opposition.

The game really highlighted how poor Dawes is though at the moment. Bloke is not even capable of basic Under 10's chest marks at the moment. Hope it turns around for him.

All Wheeled around like Medders did too a few times

I might get shot down for saying this but that was the most pointless 50 possession game I've ever seen from someone. Had 3 out on the fulls within 5 minutes in the third quarter. Great player don't get me wrong but alot kicks where he didn't need to kick it. IMO he was just boosting his possession count. Just what I thought watching from the forward pocket.

the one thing that annoyed me tonight - those late GC goals - a few extra % missed.

dawes - just have to persevere. either that or move him on permanently. :(

my wish of 2 weeks ago is coming true, with the kids getting games. :thumbsu:

last week williams & elliott, this week ugle & young. id like to see 2 more get a run next week, but so many kids in the one side is probaly dangerous. im conscious of our only other chance to do such things is round 18 vs GWS.

dids a ton of touches, and quality too. actually good to see someone other than sidebum doing all the work. daisy......if you can just avoid brain snaps you could finish the year our number one player.

harry  i dont know what he's doing anymore.

wood was basically unopposed.

and yes, assuming pendles is back after the bye.

His 53 touches equated to only 157 supercoach points, which demonstrates how ineffectual he was in reality . 53 generally quality touches will have you well over the 200 mark under the champion data scoring system .

Gazza had only 8 pts more than cam wood, too

I had Pendles captain and my opponent had Gaz captain. You can imagine how angry I was watching that seagull get 31 handball receives...:thumbsdown:

Loved the game of Jamie Elliott. Really moves a lot like Medders. Star quality in this kid. Adds another dimension to our forward line.

Benny Sinclair has improved out of sight. Credit where it's due.

Nathan Brown- it is great to have him back.

Loved Dids' game today. Really ran hard all game, was great to have the ball in his hands when we switched the play a few times, he really drew the players to the right spots and executed beautifully.

Just two final things I'd like to add before I head off for the night. The team that Collingwood fielded tonight was on average just 6 months older than GC which IMO is a great sign.

Finally how is it that a team can win the contested possession tally 157-110 (which is a shellacking really) yet receive less free kicks than their opponent?

I've always been taught that if you're the first to the ball the umpires will reward you with the free kicks. I'm not saying that the umpiring was poor or that we were ripped off in any way shape or form I just found it an anomaly especially when that very reasoning was used to defend the Eagles lopsided free kick tally.....

May have been playing you in eliminator haha. Go the Ablett Einsteins!

Really? The "TV" that I was watching on wasn't very clear, so couldn't really make out a few of the players. But I thought Buckley had a very good game.
