Rowley has been looking banged up, give her a week off. Schmidt in, with Bullas to play further up the ground. (Cameron would be the obvious out for Schmidt but I don’t think they’ll drop her for the Naidoc week game, give her a second chance I guess).

Similarly even though her ribs weeent as bad as they looked, give Smith a week off and bring in her namesake to debut. Might have to shift someone like Hooker to halfback to give us a bit of ball movement out of defence.

Really think we should have tried Britton out by now, we need somebody running into space and delivering to the forwards a whole lot better than we managed last week. Goronova is one who I think could make way based on what I've seen thus far.

Cameron and Petrevski lucky to keep their spots - they were never losing them this week, rightly or wrongly - and both have a lot to prove tomorrow.

Roberts named on ball, let's see if she plays there much. EDIT: Schmidt named on a back flank, so likely meaningless.

Yep, I think having Western and Britton on the wings will hold us in good stead. But we also need to utilise the space last week was probably the most frustrating game I've watched to date.... No awareness. We are failing at the fundamentals, the amount of easy chest marks dropped, handballs missed, fumbles and a lack of situational awareness to Shephard or go the ball when we have a 2 or even 3 on 1 scenario is very hard to watch. There still seems to be no gameplay at all...
The one thing I did like last week was Rowley's attack on the ball, and the fact that the whole team had tackling as a focus to correct their lack of against Port.

It will be interesting to see how we go today, the Bombers have done really well as an expansion side.

Absolutely a chance mate, they are probably the best out of the expansion sides and have recruited well, challenging an established team in Carlton. I think it is more likely we will lose, but hopefully we improve on last week's effort and get up.

Their first game outside of Victoria, if we come in with a good mindset this will be close I feel.

Biggie you’re across the dynamics of women’s footy far more than me; how can they see Western last week as one of the only ones moving the ball and taking the game on rather than just dumping it down the line, and think we need less of that? Is it being spooked by the turnovers and getting caught occasionally, because from my perspective backing in the long kick 9/10 times is as good as a turnover for us so far.

The team seems to be crying out for some run and carry rather than kicking it long to…???…

Oh well, let’s see how we go.
