You MUST be Chadwiko.

No. But point remains.

Stop abusing very passionate North supporters (like yourself) just because they have their own opinion.

It's best to take in and respect all views and discuss from there. (cue attack on me, fine)

You're just like ferball, you're just here to play to the crowd, because I certainly take no notice of you.

Back in to the void you go.

Ferball is 100 times better poster than you.

Plus I assure you the BF community respects him far more than you despite your inflated opinion of yourself.

Please put me in the void then, thank you.

So according to an AFL footballer, who may play for North Melb or not....

Lists will be 36! 😲😱- if true there will be a aggressive reset. I counted 45 players on our list currently. Add in any new recruits , and at least four draft picks. Crikey! Surely though lists will be 38?

Also.....

We haven't borrowed the money from the AFL we thought we would, that's a great thing.
We will run lean for the next 2-3 years, fu** to that !🤦‍♂️.

And the bit that is rattling around in my head and I'm not happy with is according to the guy mentioned in the first sentence, we think we can win FOUR of our LAST SIX!!!. We just won't learn (kick cat emoji), will have a few back this week as well. And JZ will play against GC in two weeks time.

Of all the years, just suck it up North FFS- he's an idea, win four of the first six next season 👍.

Take of this what you will, and ignore if you want

I thought you were telling us it was all a plan and Rhyce was testing guys out because of that plan.

Now we're wanting to win 4 of the last 6? Baffling.

If we win half or even some of our remaining games, I want Shaw fired...

More Bris games fwiw... everybody wins

Mate, if we can beat Port & the Eagles with a team full of kids, then I will be ****ing ecstatic!!!!

Who cares about 2 or 3 spots in a draft if our kids all go BANG a la 1990?!

Because deliberately losing or tanking does wonders for confidence.. instilling a winning attitude and reassurance going into pre season is worth more than two spots in a draft.. especially one that’s compromised

Alot of goss there TAO.

I'm not sure how connected your contact is but he doesn't even know how many games we have left. It's 5 not 6!

Lists of 36 would be acceptable if they add 2 to 4 rookies to that.

If there were no rookies - just a list of 36 - all clubs would need to cut deep
- there would end up being quite a few DFA's that would attract our interest so we would cut extremely deep. Alot of players considered safe on here would all of a sudden be kicked to the curb.
Not sure who was speaking, but caught a bit of chat on the pre-match on ABC radio last night about list cuts being spread over 3 seasons. So if 36 is the target and last night's call is correct, we are probably looking at reductions of around 3 each of the next 3 years.

That would make more sense given current contracts etc and the AFLPA would be more on board with that.

I think they will bring it back to 40 this year though and then 38, 36.

Even at 40 though it means we will have to look hard at players like Ahern/Murphy - very interesting times to be a List Manager.

42, 39 then 36?

Seems the reasonable way to go.

"We think we can turn it around really quickly." - Rhys

It's interviews/comments like this that don't fill me with a huge amount of confidence that we are going to take the time to get the list right.

I think you're attributing way, way too much to Coach press soundbites. Look at the level of discourse on Facebook, the Hun or the average dopey punter - this stuff is for them so the fairweathers rock up and buy a membership again next year. They are simply not going to advertise our 3 year strategy via media releases - it is very much not Rawlings style IMO. FWIW, I agree with Rhys that we can turn it around quickly and I think we will... but not quickly enough to change anything about this years finish.

It is easy to be realistic in hindsight. Injuries aren’t the difference between 4th and 17th.

That's fair. But injuries and playing around 3 home games for the season might be arguable IMO.

We were in win at all cost mode. Kept and played Waite. Kept and played Thompson. Preuss didn’t get much of a look in.

We played the old blokes, called it rebuilding, and finished ninth.

This is accurate though. To be blunt I think a bigger issue then was a match committee - led by Brad Scott - that was allergic to change. They were way to reliant on proven adequacy rather than form, potential, freshness and a good mix of athletic attributes. The Brad Scott era is defined by a dogmatic reliance on structure and proven assets at the expense of any on field creativity. One of the reasons I'm so happy with Shaw over the last month in particular is how much he has got out of a constantly revolving list of players.

That's shorter than I expect although I guess I could see it with drafting from lower levels allowed. I'd prefer slightly more though. To be honest though I'm one of several that think a cut like that with our current list actually benefits us massively. We have several players with chronic long term unavailability through injury and a raft of players out of contract - this kind of list cull could benefit us massively in a year with a decent draft hand. We can draft for the future to shore up our core age group and arguably pick up some freebies that fit a direct need still in that core 22-26 age group. All this with plenty of cash available in player payments. Rawlings has an opportunity this year that is completely one out of the box to set us up for the next decade.

All good man 👍

Get a ****ing room. :)

That does seem more plausible - it also gives the AFL the perfect opportunity to not follow through or alter plans depending on how the game recovers (or not) with the whole TrumpFlu thing.
