Yeah I went.

Stood outside gate three and waited in line. There were 2 lines; for the richmond AGM which had around 100 people and one for the carlscum AGM which had about 20. I guess there were about 250 people at the richmond meeting.

All in all it was a good gathering with Gary March sounding pretty upbeat. The accounts were accepted. One guy who definately sounded like an accountant stood up and asked a question re our debt position saying it really hasn't come down a lot over the last 4 years. Currently stands at around $3.8m when taking cash in bank into account. Treasurer basically said the club is working hard to lower debt more but some debt will always be required due to working capital requirements. Debt has actually reduced by 25% overall in recent years. I'm not to worried to be honest. This debt can be wiped out on the back of a really strong on field performance in 2009.

The club has taken up a $1.8m impairment charge in the books as a provision for poor performance of the wantirna club. This pub is not doing well and has a lease running until 2018. This will cost us money Im sure. To shut the joint down and pay out the lease will be costly indeed. I live five minutes away from the place and I have to say it's a crap design. Gaming and food sales are well down on previous years.

Terry wallace then got up and spoke and introduced the new recruits. Some points here:

Players present: Lids, newman, richo, tucky, foley, moore, and all the recruits except cuzzy.

1. Ben cousins was not there because he was looking for a place to live. I spoke to plough personally and he said he trained well again yesterday with the boys and will be training again today. Seems very excited at having cuz on board.

2. Alroy Gilligan is a stick. A little boy who needs a lot of work. Spoke to him and he seems really shy and reserved. Don't blame him having come from near Broome!!!

3. Craig Cameron mentioned Francis Jackson flew up to Darwin to check out the kid Melbourne ended up picking in the PSD and found the melbourne recruiting guy already there.

4. Adam Thomson is well built.

5. Wallace said the club listened to the fans and recruited more big blokes and some small crumbing forwards.

6. Spoke about the process the club went through in recruiting cousins.

7. I spoke to foley who is amazed with cotchin. Says he's a freak. Confirmed it's the achillies causing him some trouble but says will be fine.

Gary March then wound up and played the theme song really loud as the carlscum meeting was next door!!!!!

That's pretty much it.

dont understand why he would say something like this. What are they doing in the box these days FFS? Who is watching what? Blind Freddy could see what we have been screaming about, and they had to have us to listen to? ;)

yeah I noticed that on the set of financial a/c , looks to be our own beach hotel there, shame really , thought it was a good idea at the time but I rarely see the car park more than 1/4 full and I drive past often, the result doesn't suprise:o

TW has that kid from the cheer squad sitting next to him every game, so he's got a direct line to the fans.

Surely he said 'the club listens to the fans' in the same way Greg Miller wanted Pahoff to 'work with me in recruiting'.

Lets face it we do have a lot of supporters who like to think that their views will be taken seriously by the club. After all, one poster here tells Terry how to coach, right?

There is also some guy I always seem to sit near at the footy; level 2 in the members near the box that hates McMahon and tells Terry that very loudly; especially if we are behind.

Fact is all fans will have different views on every thing so TW cannot listen to them all; just the loudest.

It was ok when it opened but economic times now are really smashing it. That plus the smoking bans.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the club put the locks on the front door soon. It's losing money.

pretty sure they would have done the homework...sell it and Lose $$$$ or work through the lease losing 180k a year hoping that it could improve. They've done a shithouse job in promoting the joint, can't ever recall a happy hour, and when was the last parma Tuesday 9.95...or codgers Carvery 9.95 Mon Nights...In 12-18 months they'll be a thousand or so new homes built at the old Boral brickworks 800mtr up stud rd...I think footy clubs need to stick to winning footy matches:rolleyes:

I've grown up with Alroy Gilligan, and he's very proud of where he comes from and its defintely NOT the slums of Broome! He is from a little community outside of Fitzroy Crossing called Yiyili.
Keep your eyes on him becuase he is going to be a dynamo in the Tigers within 2years

lol

Terry is summarised as saying "we listened to the fans" and some of the self-proclaimed "most intelligent" posters on here assume Terry literally sat back, read a few emails then thought "gee, I better do wot they say" as if he's an idiot himself.

It's pretty obvious what was meant by the comment, if it was even summarised word for word.

hmm, i interpreted the comment as little wonder so shy seeing as he's from such a remote part of Aust...doesnt infer slum ...just means unlikely to come along too many folks out that neck of the woods, as it's hardly ****en Bourke street:rolleyes:
