Is that him?

I'd imagine a medical at Collingwood would involve releasing Davoren into the room where the potential player is resting. He then has to evade Davoren and get the **** away at maximum speed. Aish still has both hammies attached so I can confirm he passed.

Aish has nominated us and allegedly doing a medical. Done deal.

Yup. We now help Brisbane land Bastinac in a like for like.

Two 2nd rounders out of Collingwood to Brisbane.

They use 1 to land Bastinac so that North can get back inside the top 25 of the draft and they can either keep the other one for academy kids or to use on something else like Bell.

Gonna do some mental gymnastics here and read between the lines.

First round pick (if possible) and Oxley will get it done.
Why do you insist on putting forward ridiculous overs in trade scenarios for Aish?

Christ I'm glad you're not our list manager.

Pretty simple trade this one.

Bastinac to Brisbane

Aish to Collingwood

Two second round picks from Collingwood. Just not sure whether brisbane get a pick, or north get both. I wouldnt have thought bastinac is worth more than one second rounder.

I just posted that exact deal above.

Great minds think alike :D

Trade week is just sh!te, player gets drafted to a club, two years later wants to move elsewhere, nominates a club who have no doubt been into his manager for some time, then other clubs jump in from everywhere to try to high-jack any deal its a freakin shark pool.

Yeah north should go for it as they lost pick 15 so to get another pick in the top 25 is important.

Maybe we just need to wait for the freeman deal to go through to get the 2nd draft pick. But they are busy with carlisle.

Either way, it should be straight forward

I would think it would be something like
Collingwood giving a seconded rounder to both north and Brisbane to get aish, north give Brisbane bastinac, bastinac is worth a second rounder and aish ends up being worth bastinac and a second rounder.
Win for all clubs I would think!

I wonder if North realise this. Maybe he got lost on the way to Arden St....
Understandable considering he's from SA and been living in QLD for the last two years. The GPS in the Mazda they tried to bribe him with is probably faulty.

I wouldn't have thought Bastinac is worth a single second-rounder but hey, I guess he is according to the feigned interest by a few parties :S

If it's a three-way trade I'd expect Brisbane to get Bastinac + 2nd round pick, and North to get the worse pick albeit in the 20s.

Yeah I'd be uttered if we spend a second rounder on him to come to us. Lions should take two selections from us and on trade them. Done!

Must admit thought they'd be into Oxley.

If we can convince Blues to accept 32 for Bell and Roos 26 for Bastinac (or vice versa) I think the Aish deal can get done before Treloar and have no impact on it.

Seed to Crows for 32
26 & 32 for Aish
26 to Kangas for Bastinac
32 to Blues for Bell

It could yet be

Brisbane - Bastinac, Oxley
Norf - 2nd round from pies.
Pies - Aish.

Ie 2nd rounder plus Oxley.

From club website;

“Pies forward Ben Kennedy is also likely to be part of any trade for Howe, which will leave Collingwood with plenty of scope to package two second-round picks for Aish, or offer one pick and a player such as Queenslander Adam Oxley.”

Hey Snoop, as you're a keen draft watcher I have a question for you.

With Aish at AFL level I have not liked what I've seen. And I'm not just talking about this year where he battled injuries, even last year when he was getting a bit of the ball in the Brisbane midfield I didn't particularly like his attributes. Although he gets the ball, he looked slow, not necessarily a great kick and the type to avoid the contest (which is fine if you have Gaff's speed or Sidey's endurance but he doesn't).

Now I assume this is partly due to him not being happy in his environment and his lack of motivation – which incidentally is probably another thing that I don't like if he always needs to be externally motivated to play his best.

Today I had another look at his original draft highlight video. Obviously these are very limited in what they can demonstrate, but I didn't find much to be impressed with and I still have major concerns on his speed.

My question is: what is it that made him so highly rated in the 2013 draft? What type of mid was he at junior level? I'm conscious that he must have been very dominant to be rated as the best mid in that draft or close to it and I assume we're chasing him as we're predicting these skills to translate at AFL level but I'd like to hear your take on it.
