With all the excitement and hope that has come this season, I thought I'd make a thread to who from the tigers, will make the All-Australian this year.

Jack Riewoldt - FF 100%, no doubt, he will be the Coleman Medalist, we will be seeing many more AA's coming from him. Mark of the year will hopefully come from him too.

Brett Deledio HBF If Deledio keeps his current form, he is sure to make the team. He plays with such fanesse, love watching him. He already is rated with the likes of Pendlebury, Swan etc.

Chris Newman BP, Newman has a slight chance o
f making the team, however, he is solid consistent and would provide depth into any team. I rate him very highly and could very possibly make it.

Dustin Martin HFF Possibility, Dustin has been continually praised by the media and they are right too. He is such a talented player and could easily slot into this position.

Trent Cotchin Wing/Bench, This guy in my opinion, is one of the most underrated players among other clubs. He goes extremely hard at the ball, he is a clearance king, and has great precision. My favourite player for Richmond and our best midfielder.

Players who have a chance of being nominated.
Robin Nahas

Nathan Foley

Thoughts?

Riewoldt yes, Deledio maybe and probably deserves it, but apart from these two I wouldn't be too confident in the others.

Maybe Nahas is a sneaky chance on half forward if he keeps his form up, but that's a huge if.

AA is a lot based on hype. How Harry O'Brien is an AA, i'll never know. If we finish near the 8 then I can see Jack a lock for FF and Lids for HBF.

IF Martin is able to maintain his current form of the past month then he'd be likely to get a spot at HF due to media beat up.

You don't see many teams get 3+ AA's who don't make finals.

Jack, Yes. Deledio, as much as I love the guy he hasn't been as good as last year or as consistent. Newman, a leader needs to step up and has been pretty patchy so far. Martin, if he keeps his current form (which I doubt a little because he'll get tagged) aside from last week's game he'll probably get one. Cotchin, probably but the Midfield is hard to crack with Watson, Swan, Bartel, Selwood etc... Nahas is also a chance if he can replicate his performance from last week, for the rest of the season. Foley, uhmm... this is a tricky one because he hasn't been that consistent due to only just getting back to footy, but more of those 40+ possessions would be nice.
Hopefully not only Riewoldt can into the AA team, it's a shame Deledio didn't get in last season and only got a nomination.

By who?

Anyway I think Jack is very likely and Deledio a chance. As good as Martin and Cotchin are I think the midfield will be too hard to crack this year.

The Australian did their All Australian team - after round 7.

Sorry that was the tackle in the herald sun.

They rated Deledio the best performed half back flank of the year so far. We tend to look at what more he could be, of the half back flanks this year they rated only Scotland as having had as good a year.

Yarran, Enright, Goddard etc have much more up and down seasons. Use Supercoach as a guide .. he's the highest averaging defender this year.

They also had Martin on the HFF as they believe he is as damaging a HFF they have seen this season.

I'll try to find the link.

It's a bit premature to be picking an AA side in Round 8 but if it was picked now the only Richmond players in consideration would be Riewoldt at FF, Deledio at HBF and perhaps Martin on a HFF. The only certainty of those three would be Riewoldt.

Lots can happen between now and the end of the season though.

They forgot about Adcock, is on a par with Lids this season IMO.
