All Australian Under 22 Squad

With the new All Australian Under 22 squad for 2015 the Western Bulldogs had a league high 5 players. Lead by Stringer and Bont, Mcrea Johennisen and Wallis.

With the signature of treloar collingwood now had 6 including Grundy, Adams, Crisp, Treloar, Williams, and Langdon

And would expect DeGoey Aish and Moore to be in there in the next few years and Shaz as a smoky.

It's a good stick to go on as to how your team is tracking and if we are like the dogs could surprise alot of people this year.

Going in 8-3 at the half way mark, loosing 3 games by under 2 goals I think sunrise our confidence but I see we are on the right track and these under 22s turn to the All Australian Squad.

Are we seriously expecting them to become All Australians, or hoping? If we are expecting Adams, Grundy, Williams and Co to become AA's, we are severely overrating some of our players.

I can't think of too many Collingwood players from the current group, aside from Swan and Pendlebury, who have been multiple All Australian winners. The jury on the AA panel heavily favour those sides competing in the finals. Consistency is rewarded in spades, so I hope the players mentioned above can continue to develop and become stars.

Of the players mentioned I don't expect all of them to be in the side, but maybe Treloar and De Goey.

They are all a chance in the future most definitely, Adams is a ball magnet, Grundy an imposing yet skilful ruckman and Williams the running half back. All have the scope to improve enough to be AA. It only takes one good season. Ask Heritier.

I think Treloar will. Probably next year in fact if what I hear about him is true. Aagin, I haven't watched him enough to be sure myself. I'm basing this on opinions whom I respect and have watched him closely. It sounds like Treloar is really about to burst onto centre stage of the competition, which means we'll be very lucrative beneficiaries.

Of our existing crew, I think De Goey and Grundy will eventually be AA regulars. Possibly Moore as well.

Under 22 AA players we paid practically nothing for, and had no expectations of. That's the stuff that future Premierships are made of

Williams was stiff to miss AA squad selection this year. Grundy is easily the most talented young ruck in the league. I'd be hugely surprised if neither of them got an AA nod during their careers. Adams is absolutely capable if his better games this year are any indication. He has the talent to start getting 30+ disposal games on a very regular basis, which in itself will get him noticed by selectors.

I think you're severly underrating the talent that's been introduced to this squad over the past 3-4 years. Theres a hell of a lot to be excited about moving forward.

They are under 22, Swan and Pendlebury had issues when they were under 22 too. Not many players are complete at 22.

Beams and Sidey at least....

Dayne Beams was named in the 2012 U22 Team (which was retrospectively announced in 2013) and was also in the AA team in 2012. Sidebottom was in the 2013 U22 Team (and the 2012 Retrospective team) but is yet to make a "senior" AA squad.

Interesting to note that Jeremy Howe also made the 2012 Retrospective team.
