Along with the big improvers thread i thought id make a thread on a similar basis in which people can predict the All Australians for 2013, so more those that are really going to that elite level like Hawkins, Kennedy, Cotchin, Dangerfield ect that i mentioned in the thread.

Based on the last 6 years the premiership winning side generally on average has at least 3 all australians.

So who will the 3 be for Essendon football club next year if we are to go all the way (which is our realistic aim) ?

Not getting ahead of myself just saying who would the 3 be if we are to go all the way

Hatson
Hurley
Hrameri

Probably would want another mid, and would reckon Hellchambers is going to have an absolute blinder, but can't get past the usual ruckspects.

Watson
Hurley
Stanton
Fletcher

Ageist regime will never put him in. Had great stats this year, and was very very good, but wasn't a chance. Would have to dominate with high rebounds, intercepts and a stack of I50's to have a shot. Because we know spoils, tackles and kicking efficiency only get you so far if you're not a lock-down type.

Thought there always seemed to be more than 3 AA coming from premiership team.
Stanton would be a very good chance for AA in a premiership side. Would never make it in a side that wasn't dominant.

Well the range varies. Geelong had 7 back when they were really dominat although Sydney and i think either hawthorn or the pies only had 2. On average 3-4. You certainly need at least 5 in the 40 man AA "squad" no exceptions.

Also havnt checked but id say just about every premiership team would have an AA defender in the last 6 years (2008 onwards).

Hmmm, well possibilities to make the squad I'd say would be Watson, Zaharakis, Goddard, Carlisle, Stanton, Dempsey in that order.

I dont think Stanton is capable of making it, just to many good midfielders and unfortunatly even though he is probably the best genuine wingman in the comp, they pick players like Cotchin, Beams, Fyfe, Murphy, Pendlbury, Selwood on the wing.

Watson has to be a lock as one of the picks.

I dont think Hurley would make it as a key forward to many better than him and more consistent, but you never know.

Id think Crameri could do a Brad Green type season like a few years ago and be that best 3rd/4th tall forward in the comp.

Id hope we get one from our back line (Hooker, Pears, Hibberd, Fletcher, Dempsey, Carlisle, Haridngham). Guys like Richards, Dempsey, Reilly all really considered nothing players and past their prime by many before last year.

I think Zaka would have to be one for the big step up into the squad at least in a similar mould to Beams.

Im very bullish on TBC and my expectations of him are really high, if Cox, Sandi and NN ect fall over than he is every chance IMO, as i said he could/will be the 2nd best ruck in the comp once those 2 old stages retire.

So for me. Watson, Zaka, Crameri, Bellchambers, (one back 6 player) and Stanton to make the squad would be my picks.

TBC would need Ryder to play full time forward or back to have any chance of making it.

Stanton would be a chance with Goddard taking the heat off him. Unfortunately I don't think he will ever shake off the tag of the "Much maligned Brent Stanton" and that will always count against him.

Stanton is too vanilla to make the AA side. I'm thinking Watson locked if fit with Goddard and maybe Hibberd as chances. Zaharakis would have to elevate his game to a whole new level to be any chance of knocking off a Swan, Murphy, S Johnson for a half forward spot.
