OK folks as the new captain I feel there is a need for some changes about the place.

We have only 4 people posting regularly, and 3 of those are the captain, the vice captain and the ex captain (potenteous is the other).

What I'd like to do to start is get some idea of who is showing up even intermittently on this board, and who isn't posting at all, and who has completely forgotten the Gumbies even exist, so I can do some pruning and then get some new blood into the side.

Basically, during this off season I want to completely overhaul the club to the point where we have people queuing up to play.

Any ideas from any members of the Gumbies that can help improve our club will be greatly welcomed and accommodated.

I think part of the problem is that the running of the league has been far too haphazard this season, and a lot of players have become frustrated and lost interest with the lack of continuity. I'll be starting a thread about that too to try and get some organization back into the comp, because it is really dying in the arse, to the point where i'm not sure there will be a comp of any note in the next 12 months.

See my other thread TT, I've put my thoughts in there.

I think we need to spread the load a bit more, have a commission type set up, because having one guy looking after everything is too much to ask. FR got sick of it, he no longer participates, and others that have looked after this comp have done the same.

We can pitch in to ease the responsibilities on you, and it also means that if you can no longer run the comp in the future, that it's not going to cause the arse to completely drop out.

Just so long as you know i'm not having a go at you personally.

All I can say is I hope your next admin put sin, as this comp will sink otherwise.
 
Best place to recruit would be the Geelong board obviously, I used to always recruit there successfully but I don't have access to the general talk part of the board anymore so if any Gumbies have access it would be a good place to start imo

Just a heads up to all players currently on the list. I will be sending out PM's to each player on the list over the next two weeks. I will give another week for a reply, before I cut those I don't hear from.

I'll be going on a big recruiting drive as soon as the GF is finished, so those that have played and posted regularly this season and are keen to stay at Geelong will get first choice of positions for the 2008 season.

I'm hoping that we can get the Gumbies firing from here on out. Once I've got the list sorted i've got a few other ideas I'd like to implement.

Whatever happened to Jess_555? She was quite a good HFF last season, and can't even crack it for a game this season. Did she give it away or something? I'm sure if she was interested in coming back she might drag Eliiiiza and Shell along too. Just an idea.

If there is a spair spot on the Wing i would be happy to take it.

I'll gladly stay on at the Gumbies and continue to hold down CHB and towel up the comps best forwards week in, week out. :)
 
Hey guys, I am looking for a spot on your list if that is possible. I was previously at the Wonders and was a key figure in the rebuilding phase of the club and made it what it is today, but they delisted me so i am looking for a new club. I would love to help re build the Gumbies to what it once was.

By all means, we'd love to have you on board.

News just to hand, There are rumours circulating that a big name player from another club is currently looking to sign up with the Gumbies for the upcoming season. Will have news very shortly :D
 
Hey everyone ive talked to Diablo and am now will be a part of the team. Just to let u all know a little bit about me. Started with the deemons 2 seasons ago when they were rock bottom helped them to reach the finals in my first season.
Was made vice captain last season and once again played finals footy. Am also one of the favourites for the club best and fairest.
Preferred number: 7, 43 or 44
Look forward to playin with u boys
