There is the original video that inspired the idea. So you guys can watch that for any tips on picking players. God knows you will need them to beat me as I will of course pick the greatest team in the history of mankind.

Now the rules are as follows...

- the draft will be 10 rounds.

- snake format (meaning it snakes down from 1-8 then immediately turns around and comes back up. So the team picking 8th, also gets pick 9. And the team picking first which is me doesnt get another pick after number 1 until pick 16. I also get pick 17 as it again turns around and snakes back down. Get it?)

- time limit of 24 hours (this will be a loose time limit, try to make your picks as quick as possible and if it lapses 24 hours I will chase you down. I cant do a lot if you dont select a player as I cant choose for you so please do your best to stay on track)

- no trades allowed (its purely pick your player from the players available)

- every player to have ever played a second in an NBA game is available for selection. Unlike the NBA youtube clip above, there will be no set players to choose from. However do take note of who has been selected so there are no mixups when selecting a player who has already been drafted.

- determining the winner. I guess it's just for fun and we can all debate who selected the best team at the end. If we want we can make a poll on the Basketball board and let everyone vote on it.

- when making a selection, have some fun with it and preach a little about the guy your selecting. Get some banter going, have some fun. Rather than just posting... Tim Duncan. Cos...well that's boring. Kinda like Duncan.

- also with your first selection dont forget to let us know the name of your team.

Ok here is the draft order also so there is no mixups as to who is picking when. The draft order was determined by the amount of posts that poster has made on BF. The only exceptions were me, because I thought of doing it I gave myself pick number 1. The other two exceptions were JP and raffrox, they came in as replacement so automatically went to 7 and 8.

1. jod23 - my idea plus 27,278 posts.
2. peternorth - 29,080
3. PHX - 26,679
4. messenger - 12,182
5. primetimepricey - 9,033
6. nbaman1 - 2,269
7. JP Sauce - 1st replacement.
8. Raffrox - 2nd replacement.

Ok so my team name is the Jodzilla Thrillers!

And with the 1st pick in the NBA ALL TIME DRAFT, the Jodzilla Thrillers select...

Allen Iverson... just kidding.

Michael Jordan

michael-jordan-by-slashfilmdotcom.jpg

Ok so this selection was a no brainer. Most GM's will tell you to take the big guy in any situation and while that has merit, im always about taking the very best player available. Seen as I have every player who has ever played the game to choose from, the choice was actually rather simple.

Jordan is the GOAT. 6 rings, 6 Finals MVP's, 5 MVP's, 11 time scoring champ, 9 time all Defensive first team, Defensive Player of the Year... I could go on and on. You cant guard him, he can guard the shit out of you, he is unbelievably clutch, athletic, quick, mentally, the toughest player ever. Just unbeatable. Easy decision.

And with that.... come at me. You know none of your teams can beat me, because, well, ive got Mike.

Peternorth, you're up. :)

The Up Kates Uptons have been a longtime, proud franchise. Although specialising in socialising, swimwear and using physical capabilities to flog off product and skin flutes.

But this year, the UKUs have decided to enter the NBA. With a promise to bring glamour and sexyness to the court, Uptons majority shareholder and Director of Basketball/Human Resources Peter North had this to say:

"Man has walked on the moon, scaled the heights of Everest, and most recently travelled to the depths of the sea. But none of this comes close to my bedding of Kate Upton, and our joint venture into this sporting landscape. Whilst I wont be mixing with the general riff raff courtside, I will be thinking of you in the corporate box with Miss Upton beside/on me.

We've looked high and wide for our first pick. Someone who will represent all that we value in life. A person who appreciates and can match my drive to succeed off the court. One that will not only take care of what's on at home, but will go that extra step on road trips, especially in hotels.

With the second pick of the NBA ALL TIME DRAFT draft, the Up Kates Uptons select....

Erving Johnson

wut?

No!

MAGIC JOHNSON

magic-johnson-girls-beach.jpg

The only player in the history of the A to have played the PG position to perfection. A man who can set up, post up and even play the pivot.

Getting the AIDS was merely a way for the rest of the league to catch up.

Unfortunately, I dont have the time to think of a witty team name so I'm just going boring and calling mine, The Untouchables.

With my first pick I choose who I consider the best available AND he's a a big so that works out nicely for how I wanted to start my team structure . . . . .

#3 - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

abdul-jabbar.jpeg

Ahhhh, that sky hook. Simply a beast on both ends. I don't even have to sell this. The stats speak for themselves.

38,000+ Points @ 55.9% shooting
17,000+ Rebounds
3,100+ Blocks (and would have been more if they'd recorded them before 1973.)
1,100+ Steals (see above)
6 time World Champion
6 time MVP
2 Finals MVPs
Jersey number retired by Milwaukee and Los Angeles

Finish this off with an obligatory GIF, featuring the #3 and the #2 pick.

let us join forces

I figured Magic wouldnt last until I got another pick :D

Peter, I think your downfall will be just like Kevin McHales. Although I completely agree with your pick, I worry about your later picks when you take Pau Gasol instead of Tim Duncan and Derek Fisher as your back up PG instead of Derrick Rose :D

Who's up?

My selection is Bill Russell. When leBrone moved from 23 to number 6 at Miami in deference to Jordan, he forgot the guy with more rings than Liberace (which doesnt say anything good about Lebrone). Probably the prototype of the modern centre.

I'm a bit pressed for time, so if anyone can find me a picture of Bill standing on a beach in Massachusetts with a bevy of hotties a la Magic I'd appreciate it.

With the 7th pick in the All Time NBA Draft the *name coming laters* select none other than Mr. Triple-Double himself, the Big O, Oscar Robertson.

1ablog-oscarrobertsonx-large.jpg

Averaged 25.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists over his career and is the only player in the history of the NBA to have a triple-double season (181 triple-doubles overall).

12 time All-Star, 9 time NBA First Team, 5th all-time assists leader, 10th all-time points leader, invented the fade away jumper... What else do you need?

He also gives me my team name:

The O-gasms!

action_oscar_ncaa.jpg

Why would you ever need to do this in a game? Because it looks cool, that's why.

Jod23. Could you perhaps update the opening post so we can see who has been taken?

Surely Raffrox takes Kwame Brown and Sam Bowie to anchor his frontcourt with his back to back picks. Or if he wants to lock down a all conquering backcourt he could take Jamal Crawford at the 2 and Tyronne Lue holding down the PG spot. Should be interesting.
