T

they all lack moral courage

If the deal is not done and still nothing is said by the end of trade week then Patrick Dangerfield's position as AFLPA needs to be looked at. One of the primary roles of the AFLPA is to look after the players welfare.

I love the wikipage article on the AFLPA which covers some high profile cases where the AFLPA stepped in. One such case is listed below!

Nathan BockIn August 2010, Nathan moved to Gold Coast Suns and became the subject of controversy. The AFLPA expressed the need for rival clubs to support players such as Nathan Bock in his decision to move to Gold Coast Suns from Adelaide Crows as it encouraged a healthy level of competitiveness in the game.[40][41]
I'm not sure what they're doing behind the scenes but the current president seems mighty quiet right about now. I wonder why that is. What interest does Patrick Dangerfield have in ensuring the welfare of Tim Kelly and his family is an utmost priority.

I'll tell you what is happening. Crickets chirping! The silence so far is deafening.

AFL.com.au understands the Eagles have agreed, in principle, to send two first-round picks and this year's second-round pick (24) to the Cats with a swap of later selections.

Geelong's demand of more than two first-round picks for their star onballer is set to come true with the ball now in the Eagles' court to finalise the second- and third-round picks on Wednesday.

Also suggests more picks will be involved including 33 going to Geelong and stuff coming back.

I think you are forgetting about Gunston

Thanks for the share and I totally agree with the sentiment.

This trade has become a media and trolling Frankenstein. I want it done quickly and hopefully as fairly as possible for both sides.

Two weeks of trade period is making it a media circus. The AFL needs to pull their heads in and reduce the period back to 1 week. It's becoming a joke.

Meh, glad that shit show is over but that was the absolute MAX MAX MAX I ever wanted to pay 😑

Those pricks don't deserve that much.

Annoyed we've happily coughed up everything we possibly could, but at least we've kept Brander. That's a small win for mine.

Now... we fold.

Really we want Geelong to take a tumble out of the eight and we finish top 4 and it looks a little better but anyway the squad is okay and we are troopers , Geelong can go to obscurity and hope they vanish from planet earth .

Afl whispers on their webpage

Wce give up 14 24 and next year's 1st

Wce get back 33 and kelly.

Could be done by tomorrow

If the difference between getting Kelly and not is 24 and 36 then I’m happy with it. Especially with getting 33 back.

We're giving up 33 as well, not getting it back...

Geelong are giving back something unspecified in 2020

We got pick 24 for free anyway

We did, and I’m happy to use it in securing Kelly, but ultimately it is still an asset we could use in other ways.

You can be happy it goes in the Kelly trade but “easy come, easy go” isn’t strictly the right approach to these picks.
