1st against the bombers was close but the 2nd? CMON
I did not mean it was close but we should be able to beat Ess. Did not turn up to both got smacked in 1.

For all the shit slinging that happens around here, it seems to have gone unnoticed that we've already matched last years output with 4 rounds to go. Sure we've had to scrap for a few wins, sure sometimes things haven't gone our way, but we DO have 10 wins on the board. With a bit of luck and getting play we could feasibly be around 12 wins already too.

Tonight against North we struggled for periods, but hey, a win is a win. Stevens came back and did everything that would have been asked for him. Walker was way off the pace but that's only to be expected and he will be better for it.

We have a few good tests coming up but that will only be good for us. I fully expect 12 wins now, but don't particularly expect to make any noise in the finals. Anything more than that is just a bonus going into next year, where we can build on this season, and iron out some of the deficiencies that are still there.

Given all the early draft picks we have had for godsake anything less than a massive improvement on last year is a failure

Talent is only one part of a teams success. Experience comes into it greatly. Ability to work together as a cohesive unit also does. In no way is a MASSIVE improvement required. Improvement is all that matters. One thing we've shown this year is an ability to play shit and still win. Say 2 years ago, those matches we would have been blown out.

That says alot about not only how far we've come, but also how far we can still go. Things are looking good.

game against the hawks as well.... how did he miss?!?!

If Fev had kicked straight against Essendon in round 3 and Hawthorn round 6 as well as Houlihan kicking the winner against the Saints (not so easy shot) the season would've looked very different again. Suppose if your auntie had ball.......

It was very frustrating watching last night, but in the cool of the day, better to have won by 10 points...and considering we haven;t beaten them since 2004...
I would be rapt if we made the 8 - play a final or two and take another step next year. Shame about those early games we dropped...which made last night even more important.

You know what's worse than winning ugly, being the teams just below us in the fight for the 8 that keep losing, in one case lose in consecutive weeks to sides trying to lose....lol! Give me the "consistent winning ugly and the 2 games plus percentage (15%) in the 8" position anyday. We know what we need to work on. Right now the next step is to experience finals. One step at a time.
