Moving this one here too. The current model is prone to inefficiency and delay as 12 (and soon to be 13 or 14) voices is too many for every major decision but it serves an important purpose as being a forum for all teams to be able to raise issues with other clubs away from the public domain where it can become a bit of a free for all.My first question is Baz touched on committee reform. Historically one of the issues with the committee has been engagement. Some club reps are very active and dominate discussions, others barely contribute at all.
Are you happy with our current model, and if not what changes would you make?
For example, why isn't the committee the 12 most committed people to the management and improvement of the league, rather than just the 12 people the captains like most?
Is it time to remove the closed shop quota system we have?
And finally, admin is our most important position. Why isn't it voted on by all current players?
Headless floated the idea of sub-committees, which was an idea manangatang had three seasons ago, and is worth exploring. 4-5 invested posters will get more done than 12. The key to making sub-committees work though is making sure there's appropriate representation across all clubs (where possible) and not having the same hands in every pot.
We don't have a quota system. That was a stupid idea that popped up one season and was erroneously carried over the following season. Unfortunately, it meant some captains leant on it last season despite it not actually being a thing.
And you know damn well why the admin vote isn't open to everyone. It'll become a shitfest. Everyone has a voice through their club's' vote.
