Anyone on here involved in Amateur football?

If so let me know, someone needs some info on the comparitive level of Ammo A grade or B grade versus WAFL.

i played a couple of league games for busselton magpies when i was 16, it was a big step up from juniors and colts playing against some bigger blokes

Wembley is close to Subiaco. They train/play at the corner of Salvado Rd and Jersey St.

Isn't there a Sunday League or something in Perth that is a really crap standard?

The WAAFL (Sat) and Sunday Football League would probably be Perth metro's strongest, even though the SFL is much smaller.

The WAFA and Mercantile Football League are underneath them.

Only just saw this.

I was playing with North Fremantle in the amateur league on Saturdays and there can be some high quality players.

Kids who don't make WAFL, those who can but want to play with mates and some retired or injury prone players find their way into the A league.

North Beach has historically been the strongest club but they would get smashed by a WAFL league side and probably by a ressies side.

Unfortunately a lot of the good WAAFL players end up going to the country leagues because they can get some good coin to rock up and play.

Would agree with about 95% of the above post...and even though theres no need for the input I'll give it anyway:

North Beach & North Freo are probably the strongest clubs on the whole, with Billy Duckworths North Beach Amatures dominating the last 7 years.

The A Grade Competition wildly differentiates in skill level, with the top 3 or 4 sides in a season being in almost a whole different league to the rest. Uni clubs play in the A grade too (Uni = UWA, Wesley Curtin = Curtin Uni). In the overgeneralisation the century, these guys are mostly their to have fun and play a non-intense but skilled game of footy. Some times their good, sometimes their sh!t. Really comes down to the year.

My involvement doesnt extend past the Tigers (NB) or the Maggies (NF), but in saying that, both of those clubs are very disciplined and comeptitive. Preseason conditioning started in late Jan & early Feb and training isn't too far off for either. I think that both of these clubs could give the bottom 2 WAFL sides a good run in any given season, but they would [strike]stuggle[/strike] be pulverised against say Subi or Swannies.

In answer to the Subi area question...Wemebly would be my recommendation too. They might not necessarily be the most successful club, but they do have a wicked atmosphere and if your looking to have a kick and make some good mates then you'd be tested to find somewhere as good (maybe excpet for the Beach, which is of course in the North Beach / Karrinyup area).

what r everyones predictions for the ladder at end of home and away season 4 A seniors?
Anyone hear of the gun vic recruits in the off season west coast cowans.
apparently one to look out for is the guy spratling. bit rusty 1st up but told he will shine with game time

disagree with some of that - the top couple of a grade clubs would tear most of the ressie sides a new one and Collegians is the best atmosphere of all the clubs - lots of country people so very down to earth and have a very good coach who won them the b-grade flag last year

I had to wait until 17:(
Very true

I think the SWFL have over taken in terms of the better standard than Ammos A grade but thats just my opinion. Likes of big names playing for $$$ now down south.

I tend to agree, Pacemaker. The number of players who don't back up for a second, third or fourth A grade season because of the lure of the dosh to play SWFL, Avon or Central Wheatbelt is growing every year.

I'm thinking about joining up with Bassendean because of the fact they're local to me and they have a team in the F Grade. Are they a decent club? I just want to have a kick around and be social, not the fittest or youngest anymore by any stretch and a bit slow to play Football now (soccer to some of you).
