We must be cheating the cap. :thumbsu::rolleyes:

Media figures are bunk. They always print 700K for Thomas.
$2.5mil over 4 years seemed to be the consistent figure quoted. Which of course they'd follow up with 700-750k per year. Whle brains were being handed out footy journalists were too busy digging through bins.

More pics of Walker to mark this occasion please.

Ratten call saved Walker’s career

Walker not only describes the negotiations on the three-year deal he signed this week as “really smooth sailing”, he says his out-of-contract teammates won’t be far behind him.
Skipper Marc Murphy, Bryce Gibbs, Michael Jamison, Jarrad Waite and Kade Simpson will all become free agents at the end of the season.
Murphy has declared his “love” for Carlton and said: “I can’t see myself playing anywhere else”.
“(I’m) nearly all signed. Hoping to get that done in the next few weeks. Hopefully a few of the other boys are close as well.”
Gibbs appears the most vulnerable to rival offers, but Walker and Murphy both firmly believe the No.2 draft pick will stay put.
“I’m really good mates with Gibbsy — I’d be very surprised if he went anywhere,” Murphy said.
Walker said he was “extremely confident” Gibbs would be wearing navy blue next season.
“He put himself up for the leadership group this year so that’s a fair indication of his commitment to the club,” Walker said.

At 27 and with 165 games under his belt, Walker is poised to become the first indigenous player in Carlton’s long history to play 200 games before his new deal expires.
“I guess the one positive of Eddie Betts going is that I’ll be the first indigenous player to reach 200,” Walker joked.
“It would be a massive honour if I get there. To be the first indigenous player would be great and something I would hold close to my heart and something my family would be pretty proud of.”
