Don't want to sound like a bitchmond supporter and turn on my own or anything, but has anyone seen woosha put 4 qtrs of decent footy this year?

Seems to rack up the possessions, but often seems to get cheap kicks at halfback and his disposal is often so-so. His hardness and fearlessness of the last couple of years seems to have withered somewhat too.

He's certainly had a lot of mates this year, so I don't want to single him out, but I thought this was supposed to be the year for him to real stamp himself on the game. Trips to Japan, leadership group etc etc...

a quick look at the leaderboard shows he's only been given 1 vote for the year, so I'd be interested in your thoughts....

Agree. Back in '03 he so often used to get the ball charging out of defence and really put it to our advantage. Nearly all his possessions are receives in a pocket now and he takes forever to move it on.

he stufed his shoulder earlier in the year against geelong which may still be troubling him like it did to mark johnson last year.

he needs a big summer in the gym welsh i reckon, aslong as he doesnt lose any run.

Hes a good player but yeah your right we need someone who dashes out of defence and sets up our forwards

mcphee does a bit of charging out of defence but i agree welsh needs to step up and be more aggressive or he'll turn out to be another justin murphy

In Welshys defence he has been far from our worst, hes been having a go and really even when he has a bad night, you dont see him make any really outlandish mistakes which is all you want from a backman. He has serviced us really well, solid contributor, and I guess all players form gets affected by the form of the team.

You only look good dashing out of defence if someone in front is running to space. One of our main problems is once we get pressured we seem to stop running and just wait for someone else to make the moves , hence our guys get the ball at half back and have to stop and go in circles looking for options.
