on radio the other day i heard robert walls suggest that andrew williams could be an option at full forward. i think its a good idea. i realise wilson is doing well at the moment but on occasions when we are breaking down at chf wilson could move out there with williams taking over at ff. i think it could work because williams is one of the quickest on our list, is strong overhead, presents himself and is a good kick. at the moment williams is taking plenty of marks but usually he is not in scoring range so he doesn't hurt the opposition as much as he might otherwise.

any thoughts?

on an unrelated matter i try to follow the progress of the eagles players in the wafl but its not easy because the newspaper reports are pretty scant on the wafl. does the eagles site provide any info in this regard?

Your best bet is the very flimsy WAFl site. If a WC player plays a good game he might get a mention in best on ground or in the goal kickers. If we had enough supporters going to the games people could perhaps tell us. I know that Frodo sometimes goes and sees a few WAFL games.

PS. Williams at FF could work but will KJ think of it....probably not!

Where to play Williams

Williams would be a good choice at Full Forward, he's quick, strong and has a good kick at goal. However I think that with Wilson trying to hold his spot in the FF position, Williams should be used on the Half Forward Flank area. I just wish Judge would actually start him on the field and leave him there!

Maybe we could use him at CHF? He has all the qualities, good mark, tall, fast, good disposal, long kicks. It couldn't hurt, i mean opposition coaches wouldn't tag him so he could damage them, if they start tagging him it'll free other players up.

Also, i would like to see wirra put into the middle. He isn't all that good at defending, but his speed and ball control could be very useful at center bounces.

I think it is a good idea, if we are breaking down at CHF then move Wilson up to CHF and throw Williams back at FF. Could work, but as someone else said i would like to see him start game at a half forward flank. Williams might be a stretch at CHF but why not try him, we've tried everything else??

It's worth a go. I can't see why Judgey doesn't try things out when we are losing and not looking good. He just leaves things as they are we end up having four in a row kicked against us.
Try Wirra on the ball, Roo on the ball, Jako at CHF, Willow at CHB. At the very least it will give the opposition coach something to think about and if it don't work then try something out. (ps, not Carrol in the ruck tho)
