City, Liverpool and Arsenal are obviously a different level. That leaves one spot to fight for
I do yeah. Most likely 3rd.Genuine question - do you believe Liverpool are a nailed on top 3 finish this season?
I do yeah. Most likely 3rd.
You dont I assume?
Really? Arsenal will easily finish top two, they are very, very good.Other than City I don’t think any team is nailed on top 4. Arsenal and Liverpool are well placed, but I’m not banking on anything.
He needs to figure out how to break into the top 4 this season, 5th placed finishes aren't good enough for the project Tottenham have put in place over the last 10 years.
If you look at the raw numbers, only Chelsea (with £550m) have spent more than Postecoglou (£355m), with both teams having a similar net spend.
It's an interesting move to put such an investment into one "senior" player, Solanke, at £55m then a whole bunch more on "youf" and some loans from the Championship and abroad for the new season.
They are kind of similar to Arsenal a few seasons ago, they have some good/very good players; Udogie, Sarr, Son, de ven, Romero, Maddison, Porro, Solanke etc but the drop off in performances/non-performances from players like Richarlison, Kulusevskis, Lo Celso, Reguilon, Bissouma Werner etc shows how weak (imo) their squad is.
Given the squad weaknesses and his tactical obsession with sticking with that suicidal high line, Postecoglou really needs to show he can get the good/very good players to take the next step and become stars while performing at a consistent level.
A repeat of last season's finish, something like 20 points from the last 20 games, will probably see him get the chop.
Havent had injuries the last few weeks...Poor Ange hasn't been helped by a shocking injury run this season but I think most of what I said rings true.
19 losses in the league is horrendous, his inability to adjust tactically to the players he has available has been his downfall. The transfers they made also haven't helped at all, having more "squad" players would surely have been more beneficial than unproven youth.
I hope they go on to win the Europa as I like Ange and want him to succeed, but Tottenham isn't the club for him.
He should get another shot somewhere else in Europe.
