When does one resign? How much corruption can keep piling up? 3 ineligible MP's would've meant 3 by elections (assuming they're all MP's) and would've been the case if not for their rocky 1 seat majority.

It seems to matter not, whether it's one or ten dual citizens when it comes to the LNP. MP's that were voted in, despite being ineligible. Appear like Barnaby to receive special rules that allow them revoke their citizenship, somehow meaning they're not only eligible, but able to retain their seat despite no re-election or by election.

Big swing expected though. Stirling used to be marginal.

Yep, but changing demographics has made it become more similar to Curtin (Julie Bishop's ironclad Lib seat in western suburbs of Perth) rather than the more marginal leaning Labor seats like Swan with more working class people.

I don't see it being Labor again in the short to medium term.

If he renounced his UK citizenship in 2004 I really don't see what the problem is with this one. This one is just a beat-up because he won't play nice with the Fairfax journo.

Stirling contains the majority of the City of Stirling and a small portion of the City of Bayswater. Suburbs include Balcatta, Balga, Carine, Dianella (part), Gwelup, Hamersley, Joondanna, Karrinyup (part), Mirrabooka, Morley (part), Nollamara, North Beach, Osborne park (part), Scarborough (part), Stirling, Trigg, Tuart Hill, Watermans Bay, Westminster and Yokine.

That's a pretty diverse bunch of suburbs in there. If there's not a large Labor swing in the interior booths from the Mitchell Fwy, say Balcatta to Morley, I'd be stunned.

Areas like Balcatta and Tuart Hill are becoming more affluent and consequently more Lib. Trigg, Scarborough and North Beach are probably very solidly Lib. Of course this will depend heavily on the overall perception of the federal government and PM too but the 'working class' areas in the east like Balga and Mirrabooka get swamped by the western part of Stirling.

House prices and asset prices are going up all irrationally all over the place, doesn't change the economic conditions underneath. People are on less wages than the boom, paying larger mortgages. I take your point that proximity to the city has seen some minor demographic changes in those areas but really, these are working class/middle class suburbs that would traditionally vote Labor. The Mining Tax and other WA based anti-Labor issues have obscured this for a long time.

It's still a strong correlation though - rich enough to vote Lib but not inner city enough to vote Green.

Stirling was marginal in the past because there was a good mix of demographics but it is trending rich and trending Lib. Like I acknowledge before, though, it will still depend heavily on how the voters perceive the Lib government - if a potential by election can be turned into a referendum on the federal government there could be an upset. The GST issue for example gets a lot of headway in WA.

Just had a brief gander, Labor won Balcatta (Balcatta, Stirling, Tuart Hill, Joondanna) in 2017 at the State Election with a TPP of 12.9%. Swing of of 12.9% So super marginal to super safe for Labor. Would suggest it's going in the other direction.

Huge disaffection with the Barnett government saw double digit swings to the ALP. Same pattern at just about every seat in metro Perth.

If Stirling turns into ALP territory at the next election it will be because the voters think the federal government is out of touch.

Stirling is only held by 6% roughly and given the talk of carnage for the Libs come next election over here, even if it doesn't look like it's anywhere near in danger of happening, a by election in Stirling could go either way

When does the GG step in and dismiss this rabble of lying cck skers fleecing the Nation to enrich their banking and mining mates?

What the fk is the Queen doing while her Government morphs into less than kindergarten?

Who is watching Pell?

It's reversion to the mean. 2013 was a bloodbath for State Labor. 2016 Federal Election they still didn't have a message for WA voters. If the economy is still stagnant, Labor would feel very disappointed if they didn't get close to a 6% swing.

The GG should shake hands with dignitaries and primary school kids and do little else.

These are matters for the High Court and the floor of Parliament.
