Sounds like Hentschel did his knee.

Bad luck to the young kid :(

Pre-seasons knee injuries suck.

if its true its heartbreaking...seeing as he is only 19. Looks like Rutten will probly be elevated to the senior list

Saw the footage & it doesn't look great, but I have seen worse (eg. Rehn). Lets hope it's not as bad as suspected after they analyse within 48 hours & he doesn't miss much action. He looks like a good prospect & has been keen on the training track.

Did you hear my scream when I heard the news on 5AA? It's very frustrating being a footy supporter.

One report said it may not be the knee, it may be a broken leg, which would be better news, but the poor kid - he was doing so well.

Trent Hentschel, Adelaide’s newest player, will be out of action for at least 10 weeks after breaking his left ankle in a practice match today.

Hentschel, 19, crashed heavily after a marking contest at Alberton Oval during an abbreviated practice match between Adelaide and Port Adelaide players not involved in this weekend’s Wizard Home Loans Cup matches.

He will have the ankle in a protective boot for six weeks before a further four weeks of rehabilitation.

A tall forward described as having “a lot of flair and a big future”, Hentschel was the Crows’ only pick (No. 5 overall) in this year’s pre-season draft. He kicked 70 goals for Darwin club Palmerston Magpies in a premiership season before joining SANFL club Woodville-West Torrens.

All the best Trent!! I was amazed they had this on the site so quickly. They even have this week's squads on the site and some new stories.

Well at least thats better news than a knee.

Thats what i get for actually listening to what rucci had to say.

Apparantly the POWER doctor, Peter Barnes was first on the scene and said it was a knee

How can they bloody mix up a knee and a broken ankle???

Crows and Power medicos by the sounds of it.

Shame for the young lad which will hurt the Eagles a lot more than the Crows methinks.

Firstly, sympathy to Trent about breaking an ankle on the even of the season. Out for 6-8 weeks at least by the look of it.

Playing in the game he was playing, it did not seem Trent was in line for a spot in Crows 22. Trent is on them main list, and I wonder if it is worth promoting Rutten or Bock off the rookie list in Trents place while his ankle heals?
