Another NY plane crash

This morning another American Airlines plane, carrying over 250 people, which was destined for the West Indies, and in particular the Dominican Republic, crashed in the NY suburb of Queens, killing all on board, and more on the ground.

The Americans are not pin pointing terrorism, but it's fair to say they would be bloody suspicious after September 11.

Witnesses say it self destructed before impact though, which leads to terrorism. Also, the plane was checked yesterday, and went downsoon after leaving JFK airport.

Another sad day for the city of NY, and America as a whole. It's the last thing they needed, and personally I'm leaning towards terrorism.

I'm actually leaning towards accident. The eye witnesses noted that one of the engines had a high pitched whine just before it sheared off the wing. This is consistent with a foreign object (such as a large bird) being sucked into the jet.

Either way, it is a another sad incident in a very sad year

I'd say that it was purely a freak accident. Not dissimilar to the Air France concord disaster last year.

I doubt Bin Laden or his cronies was behind this, but sadly i think all disasters in the world will be pin pointed towards the tailban from now on.
it was an accident pure and simple, Hitman where is the proof it was an terroist attack - IE there was none.

What proof do you need?? Go back to September 11th and take a look!!

This probably was an accident but there is still a chance it could have been a terrorist attack... or an attack gone wrong perhaps

I said leaning folks, I keep an open mind until it is investigated properly.

I had about two minutes to look at a news report before studying for an exam this morning ( me, study? ), and the eye witness claimed she saw it just plummet, and that something exploded before the plane hit the ground.

I apologize, but just what I saw.

I heard this terrible news this morning on CNN... didn't help my day either First off, George "Dubya" Bush and NYC's mayor tell the public that it is "perfectly safe" to be in an aircraft, due to all the high security in airports... and the government's word. But now, a plane has crashed, and people in America will start doubting their security, and will probably avoid flying. However, I am going to say it was an accident... but try telling the public that. There still needs to be more evidence to this incident, and I'm sure it can shed new light into this. But currently... you can't rule out terrorism.

Well... it seems that no one in America will fly, well, not for a long time anyway, nor will anyone fly into America. This is a blow to America... no one feels safe anymore, even if Bush says it is. Imagine what this would do to tourism and the American economy! The US dollar has already fallen sharply after this incident... and this will surely affect to the global scale.

The sad thing is that any other year this would be seen purely as an accident, but after the terrible events 2 months ago, you can't rule out an act of terrorism.

Exactly.

Its not everyday that an aeroplane carrying over 250 people, crashes into a New York suburb.

Too co-incidental to not be an act of terrorism. There is a missing link somehwere.

Hmmmmmmm.

I've got no opinion on whether it was a terrorist attack or not.

But I think it's fair to say ... whatever the case ... that the terrorists really don't need to do a thing now. Their work is done.They can just sit back and watch America self-destruct.

I read somewhere that the anthrax outbreak turned out to be the work of an American nutter, rather than an organised terrorist group.

I guess there's enough lunatics in America, and enough residual fear from September 11, to keep the Yanks jumping at shadows for a long time to come.

I think my original call ... back on September 11 ... that this was the end of America as a world power, is being proven bit by bit. They are one terrified bunch of people. And the more terrified they get, the more irrational they get.

But America was collectively insane LONG before September 11.

As a man of great wisdom (Johnny Rotten, actually) once said .... "It's all falling to bits ... gloriously".

And before you all tell me to get on a plane to Kabul ... this is just an observation.

Don't shoot the messenger. It gives me no joy to be living through the end of the world.

I think Bin Laden has more worries trying to stay alive then hijack another plane. Come on, he's not superman. I think irrational paranoia is starting to break out here. If the FBI haven't been called it, i think it's safe to say that it wasn't a terrorist attack.
