Another retirement

Fosdike, Kennelly, Hall, O'Loughlin, Barry, Crouch. The stars of 05-06 are dropping like flies and now another name to add to the list.

Come the end of the season I will be retiring from the position of Swans board moderator. I've had far to many other things going on this year to keep up with the job effectively - you might say I went on a season too long.

A big thanks to all those who have made the board what it is today, I hope it continues to grow and develop as it has the last 3 years.

Next item of business is appointing a successor - so post your applications or nominations in this thread. Tell us what you or your nominated person would bring to this position, and how you would develop and improve the Swans board.

Seriously though, I think grimlock would be a good choice, he's level-headed and always has something insightful to say. I think he has shown dedication to the board, and would be able to to well as a moderator.

First of all Bert

Thanks for all of the work you have done behind the scenes here for whilst you Mods don't get much credit (Your job is pretty much being Glorified Janitors with out pay you just have to clean others mess)

But I believe you and Robbie are the two or the major reasons the board is now allot more busy with new posters seeming to pop up every week (Credit must also be given to other posters eg: Soph, Grim, Bedford, Malceskifan, Hooley, BigBez, Vonn and Stat as they all have great personality and are an enjoyment to read)

I personally believe the best choice of Mod who is currently active on this board would be Grimlock as he always comes up with great threads and helps out allot of posters on this board plus he is very level headed and it would surprise me if he has ever received an infraction.

Another nomination I would like to put forward is Cas79 he is a very level headed poster, A great person and is always offering to help or provide advice to any who seek it, he has also contributed thousands of great posts and thinks with his head not his emotions.

I would also like to throw my hat into the ring and put myself up for a moderation position (Either as a Spec Moderator or a normal Moderator)

I think the best idea I have would be to have a players sub board (Similar to the Roster Watch on the Lions board)

This way we could post articles about certain players in there own threads and if any opposition fans need to ask any questions about any of our players they may post in the players thread.

We could also provide a detailed analysis of each player in their own thread (Eg: Career highlights, What draft pick they were, Nicknames, Height, Weight and if they were received in a trade who or what draft pick we gave away for them)

I think if this sub board is created it would clean allot of unnecessary threads on our main board and it would make it allot easier for opposition supporters to navigate.

We may have to ask for an Admins permission for another Sub Board though but I can't see them having an issue with this.

I would also be willing to write up the players profiles during the off season and hopefully others could contribute.

I also have been a moderator on another site before and am currently studying a computer course (This should be completed by the end of November)
