The Swamprats have a long history in the Sweet F.A and a long history of going into recess but unlike many clubs that enter a recess. They've always made a return. The first time the Swamprats had a break was after season 7, the second time was after season 9 before returning in season 16. Will season 40 be the start of another rat exit?

Just five Swamprats showed up to their round twelve match marking the lowest match thread engagement of the season so far.

They had a mass exodus after season 38 with four active posters departing.

They failed to recruit any rookies this season.

They just barely make the minimum list size.

They were tardy in participating in committee.

Their team thread hasn't had any meaningful participation since March 10th.

Their fearless former captain and current vice captain damicky has been shopping themselves around to clubs both privately and publicly.

Their leadership group couldn't put together a team sheet this week.

What will The Filth Wizard do about this?

Will this be TFW's last act as admin and lasting legacy?

Enough is enough. It's time to remove the bye and the Swamprats from the Sweet Football Association.

and remember! DenieD stated that he has never had a problem posting team sheets as captain.

I have been saying for a long time that there needs to be a section in the Rules for deregistrations of clubs. There are rules and processes in place for the creation of new clubs, why isn't there such things for the removal of clubs? Is it because no admin wants to be associated with what could be perceived as a league failure?

As you mention in the OP, clubs used to disappear all the time in the league's wild west formative years - but since then everything has become highly regulated, and teams can not simply disappear into the ether as they once did.

Say the Rats need to fold. How does that occur? Nobody knows, since there is no process established to do so.

Clubs folding shouldn't be seen as a failure of the league itself. It's a natural process as the Sweet FA ebbs and flows. The demise of the Rats could lead to a new club forming, or even the rebirth of Sin City in a few seasons. It could strengthen other clubs who feast on the carcass. It could even lead to... 🐟 🐠.

what about the ability to loan out a player for a season? I feel strongly that our best interest is to keep clubs alive through reasonable strategies.

So many clubs are struggling with engagement numbers this season. The wonders numbers are definitely down, the league as a whole is down. Losing a club at this stage probably isn't a bad thing.

So we should merge the Wonders and Rats? Excellent idea! It gets damicky back to you guys too.

Wonderful Rats FFC

I think it would be brave of the outgoing admin to wind up the swamprats for the time being and leave the league in a strong place with no bye round.
The Filth Wizard do you wish to be stunning and brave?

That's a whole lot of words to say we f**ked up by expanding.

Are there enough players who are active but can’t get a game? Great idea though if the league had better numbers

I think it would brave of the outgoing Admin to force the Bears, Demons, OOBs and Roys to part with three of their active posters as an equalisation measure.

And drive them into inactive status? Pass.

I mean seriously. We have teams with posters actively choosing to play on the bench or not in their team at all so that their lesser team mates play in better positions.

Come the **** on.

Prior to that post, I thought your commie routine was an act.

Demons parted with players at the end of last season as an equalisation measure.
