I heard on the news last night that David Antonowicz has been the first Eagle to be delisted. They also mentioned that Scott Cummings and Ryan Turnbull are likely to follow. Is there any way we can do a late trade with Cummings? I wouldn't want to give him away Scott (excuse the pun) free.

I think we all knew Antonowicz was gone but i really hope WC decide to keep Cummings. Our midfield is really starting to take shape with Cuz, Kerr, Fletcher, Jones...Morrison, Braun and Banfield will be back. Wirrpunda could spend a lot of time in the middle, Humm is a good kid and we will more than likely pick up another young midfielder in the draft. Its stupid to lose our best forward when our midfield is just starting to piece it together.

Theres other players we can delist rather than Cummings, ie: Hunter, Harding etc
If we lose Cummings now we're gonna regret it later on in the year when we have no one to take a mark or kick a goal in the forward line

I think it depends on how many players the eagles expect to pick up in the draft and promote from the rookie list. 2 players from the rookie list, 5 in the November draft and 1 in the preseason draft. Thats 8 players to come in, so who goes out? Kemp, Donnelly and Antonovich are already gone. I would also tip Harding, Turnball and Hunter to go. We still need two more to delist, unfortunately Cummings heads that list.
So unless you can find 2-3 players who would be delisted in front of him, i think he is skating on thin ice. Which is a shame, because i like him, though i personally wouldn't keep him.

Hunter, Harding should be gone soon.
I hope we keep Scotty, we need a forward and I see no one who can kick the goals for us. Wilson if he gets the ball, usually cant kick it, so it could be our downfall.

Hunter has just signed a new contract with the eagles, so Cummings is one place closer to getting delisted. Things aren't looking too good for him.
Banfield and Merenda have also signed new contracts.

And it also depends on salary and contract conditions. Remembering delistings still have an affect on the salary cap for the rest of they're contact!
