The Crows have had a poor season and today played an error prone game, but still pumped us by 52 points. Although we were close to 3/4 time, that was largely due to putting the first 3 goals on the board. I thought we were pretty much beaten all day from there.
I've been trying to think if there were any positives out of the game but I'm struggling. Schulz looked good in the first quarter, but after that there wasn't much to get out of it. None of the other youngsters really impressed today, though Moore, Jackson and Hartigan have shown enough overall in the games they have played to suggest they will develop into good players. Weller did a few good things, but I'm not sure that he will be more than an interchange-type or list-filler. Hasn't played a lot of games though so he could possibly develop - he looks prepared to put his body on the line and have a go, but has no left foot at all.
Zantuck and Tivendale showed a little bit more form than they have been in, though Tivva gets cornered on his left side too much. Bowden tried hard across half back, but was giving away too much height and with the ball coming down so much probably had his colours lowered on the day. Fleming also keeps having a dip.
Krak is one I really find hard to classify. He will be into his fifth year next year and needs to improve at least as much next year as he has this year to establish himself as a player.
Before today I didn't think there was any way we would get the spoon, as even the Bulldogs had to go out of their way to lose against Hawthorn, but after today's game I'm not so confident.
