after our school athletics carnival a couple of weeks ago, where i came 7th in the 800 for our year (year 12) in a time of 2min25secs, which i thought was pretty good considering i never done athletics training before, and the shoes i had it one gave me the worst blister i've ever had on my foot from that run.
So i decided i'd take a hike down to athletics training which started today, to see how if i could do something - my brother came 3rd in the Australian Schools Championship in 1991, so maybe i could do something like that (although not quite to that extent).
BIG MISTAKE going down there
never been more buggered in my life at the end of it, really only last for 25/30 minutes, but it was solid work during that - can't believe i didn't throw up at the end.
But i guess it only do me good, even if i don't get to represent my school at our major carnival in 8 weeks time (which i probably won't as its to much improvement required in not enough time) the worst thing that will hapenn to me is that i'll get some fitness for footy.
Anyone here do athletics?? if so, what events and times/distances do you do?? or is anyone here a follower of the track and field.
