Anyone Playing Counter Strike - Source ?

Well I am relatively new to the whole online FPS games - I bought Half Life Episode 1 & 2 which came with Death match, After a while interest got the better of me and I bought Counter strike.

The old games I am way better at - especially the death match style one were you get better guns the more you kill but I Love playing Counter Strike - Source as it all feels a bit newer and quicker.

My main problem is I suck, really badly, after weeks of playing on and off, I have finally managed to get multiple kills in one game and also managed not to get killed in the first 30 seconds of any one scenario I even managed to play out an entire scenario without dying (didn't actually kill anyone time ran out). the big problem for me is i am a all guns blazing type of guy - and that doesn't work online it seems.

Don't get me wrong I love playing them and have a great time getting mowed down time after time in the different variety of counter strike games; I'm just hoping that there are other people out there who have played/play and have experienced the same "development" period.

I'm pretty sure I'd be bad at it too. I suck at TF2.

I bought my game from EB for $40. You can download it after you buy it from Steam for $20.

I don't play CS:S, but I definitely know the feeling of coming into an online game late (i.e. after a lot of people have had time to play / practice) and sucking badly during the learning curve

to you play through a particular server ? I mainly stick to Australian ones, specifically Internode or gamingsa just due to the latency

I like playing sservers with mods such s MVP or Zombie Mod but I'm a hardcore surfer . I gave up normal maps a long time ago.

there are a few - I just get sick of the same 2 or 3 maps - office or ware house seems to be it.

Played last night for a while, getting to select the right guns and keep the aiming always at head level. Starting to get more kills which is good !!

They had a sale on the weekend, 50% off all Counter Strike games.

I bought Counter Stike and Counter Strike Condition Zero for $5 .

Source was only $10 so you could get all 3 games for $15.

i'm annoyed

I bought H2 Episode 1 and 2 which then came with DM. Following that I then bought the counter strike games for 19.99 with DOD, CS x 4 etc etc

but now I want to get Half Life 2 but the problem is I can't get it stand alone or just with Team fortress 2 - looks like i will be buying the whole bloody series individually.

anyway - i'll stick with CS -Source until I get bored.

Just download the game, that boxed version would probably need updating so you'll be downloading a fair bit anyway. Steam I'm pretty sure lists American Dollars but the Aussie dollar is strong against the US dollar so you'll get it pretty cheap.

Update: just looked it up it's $19.99 which I'm 99% sure is in US dollars, which makes it $23.10 AUD.

I might buy it myself one time.

$64.95 is a tad bit dear but I heard from the EB peoplethat it's being discontinued so I suppose it's as rare as hens teeth nowadays.

I also discovered this site www.ozcdkeys.com that offered to sell serial numbers. $20 not too bad just for Source and $25 for Orange Box and CSS. Mind you it's just the serial so eitehr way I still have to download off Steam.
