I've copped a little zap here and there, not a fun thing to have happen, though one time a clock radio of mine blew up and the power cord detatched from the radio and the power went out.

Millions of times on fences. Climbing them, sometimes the tags weren't visible and you'd just grab onto the damn fence with both hands - OP was right it's not a great feeling (specially if it was raining, then it was really hard to let go).

Once I was crawling under a fence that I knew was electric, so I was being really careful, then my dog barked and I put my head up - straight into the wire. That was the worst.

my grandad got zapped by lightning when he stood under a tree during a thunderstorm........didn't survive.

The front of an old double adaptor had fallen off under my bed and I was trying to pull it out of the wall without looking and reaching under the bed. I got a huge zap up my arm when I touched it.

This was about 10 years ago and I can still remember the feeling it gave me. My arm ached for the next couple of days. Not a pleasant experience.

As a kid I tested things which would conduct electricity by touching them to an electric fence (on the farm). Didn't really hurt too much. It was more nauseating than painful. I was a scientist from an early age...

I also saw lightning hit about a metre away from me once.

I've copped a couple of hits, but that was a while ago, I'm an apprentice sparky and I'm paranoid about testing things before I go within cooee of them. Last time I got whacked was only 110 volts DC from a power supply in an air con, tickled but wasn't too bad.

That's the idea Herbs never trust the trady and test even if he assures you it is off. The worst time I copped one was as an Apprentice on neutral join. I knew the em-erg light circuit was disconnected but didn't realise it shared the neutral with a light circuit. The 1st year had made a terrible join so trying to do the right thing I pulled it apart to fix it and got hooked for up a couple of seconds. Lesson -Treat neutrals as live!

I cleverly urinated on an electric fence when I was 7. Felt like getting thumped by an invisible plank, had no idea what was going on!
Also for some reason I seem to be a conduit for static electricity. Get zapped every time I get in or out of my car. Spent one bloody annoying afternoon in a supermarket once getting zapped by every shelf and can. My kids thought it was great.
Last year at work (u/g mine) a sparkie unfortunately terminated himself at a 1000v power box. A few of us got there minutes after it happened but the guy had no chance. I think he just happened to brush a live wire with his little fingernail and well, thats all it takes.
